I’m a keen watch spotter, and only have seen one BLRO in the wild.

Ive had my pepsi for 2 weeks.

Ive worn it everyday since.

I’ve had 4 people come up to me and say it was the first pepsi they have seen. I’m not some friendly approachable guy either. I typically am disgruntled for various reasons.

Have to remember the ceramic steel Pepsi has only been produced for 4-5 years. And in an impossible time to obtain one from an AD. So it’s unsurprising that you see many other watches that have been made for many years before. I rarely even see another Rolex in the wild at all unless I go to some kind of huge event. And I’m in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the US.

Anyone noticed the same? Any explanations?

Same. I’ve never seen a Pepsi in the wild…

I personally know 4 ppl that have a Daytona - 3 Panda and 1 Black dial…

In addition, I was at Christmas party back in December and I met 2 women that night that had a Panda Daytona on…

I’ve never seen a Pepsi.

In FL, I see Datejusts, DayDates, back dial Subs, and the Bluesy too. Actually, I see the Blusey more than the black dial Subs.

Never thought about it much. I wear mine regularly but don’t think I’ve seen another.

It may be related to all the stories of thefts/muggings that either prevents many from wearing their BLROs in general public, or they are discreet so as not to be noticed.

I used to see lots of Rolex. Not as much anymore. I think people just don’t want to attract unwanted attention.

I wear mine a lot but I don’t show it off. During long sleeve season it’s not showing. I had one interaction while traveling in Louisville KY where the hotel manager noticed it. More often than not, people wouldn’t have a good chance to see it.

Everyone I know that has one also has several other watches vs a lot of people that only have a sub or DJ. Only time I have seen on in the wild was in the DFW airport on an AA pilots wrist

Most of the Pepsi are locked in safes or cabinets waiting to be traded or sold haha
Personally seen around 6 Pepsi being worn in the past 3 years.

I don’t see that many Rolexes period.

Let’s make some assumptions…

1m Rolexes made a year. 20% of these are sports model. Maybe 20% of those are Pepsi. 15% going to the US. So 6000 Pepsi a year to the US. Let’s say 10 years worth of Pepsis out there (though not ceramic as hasn’t been that long). Population of 180 million adults, half men. So 60000/ 90m. Less than 0.1% of people will have one.

With all of them locked up in safes, is it really any surprise?

I have seen numerous ceramic red/blue GMTs in nyc, Ack, Asia and southern florida.
Nice watch but certainly not rare. Mass produced :)

Here in NYC I see a few pre ceramic in the wild, but I haven’t seen anyone, other than an SA at an AD wearing a ceramic model.

I am on west coast. I have been seeing pepsi since 2018. Regularly.

A pepsi is a basic watch. But it only gets more elusive over time. It has been out for five years now. If you cannot get one that is on you.

That’s pretty sad. I wear mine in rotation with my other pieces and always enjoy wearing mine.

Do you feel unsafe wearing it?

I've run into probably about six in the wild over the last 4 years. Rare, but not as rare as SS Daytona, which I've seen only twice ... both white dial. Never seen a black Daytona in the wild, except on my own wrist.

To be honest, very very few people notice. Funny though, every time I go through Camp Pendleton and a certain gate guard (looks exactly like a 40 year old Tom Berenger) is on duty, he always comments on my watch, especially if I'm wearing a Daytona. Funny; you never know where you'll run into a WIS.

Went to a private equity event recently. Out of 15 participants, 5 wore GMTs, of which 4 BLRO and 1 BLNR.

The BLRO is a beauty, but it's so common because people buy it knowing they can't make a mistake with it. Some of them should be a bit more brave :)
