Don’t waste your money on something “while you’re waiting”. Just get what you want directly. One thing I learned from spending so much money on luxury items is that I’d never makes sense to settle.

I'm sorry all, but IMHO the rivetts really do matter. I've heard people say before you don't notice them when on wirst, well I did and I really didn't like them, same as the original BB chronograph I had.

Also (and I know Tudor has addressed this on newer releases), I could never get a good fit. No half link available at the time and the micro adjustments were either too big or small.

I was spoiled at the time I had my BB58. I had a current verison Planet Ocean in the collection which was a great diver, and I got the call from my AD after around 6 weeks of buying the 58 for a new 124060 Submariner. In reality, the 58 stood no chance.

Of course, to each their own. I don’t notice them but that’s probably because they don’t bother me anyway. I bought the Tudor fabric strap to keep it interesting (it fits well too), but went back to the bracelet once the novelty of the strap faded.

Wear my BB58 Navy Blue on a Vanguard Strap occasionally. Very comfortable and makes a nice change.

Unfortunately, the half link wasn't available when I bought the BB58. I'd be interested to hear the hack on the clasp?

What do I need to learn about Tudor that is causing me to pass over the 58 as unremarkable in favor of the BB GMT S&G?

What move would you make?

My personal experience: Tudor GMT S&G is VERY heavy on the bracelet, for me it was unwearable also considering lack of adjustment, so I switched to leather and NATO which is working waaay better. On a positive note, GMT S&G looks great with the suit, and is not too flashy, so I use it as daily office watch, and Explorer II is for the rest of the time.

I think the posters above were using it as a holding watch until the watch they wanted came and ended up loving the BB58.

I think it's also pretty hard to know exactly what you want until you're wearing it on the wrist for a couple of days.

I went back and forth with the Omega Speedmaster, liking it some of the time I saw it at an AD and then other times not at all, finally realized I just don't like it as much as the pictures and videos I saw online.

This back and forth was probably after 6 months of going into stores when I had a chance.

For people with smaller wrists, it’s a way to remove the last link on the 6:00 side of the bracelet, that is not meant to be removed. But, you can, if you remove the fold over clasp and spring bar for the clasp, you can remove the link and reattach the male end of the next link directly to the clasp, using the spring bar, then reattaching the fold over clasp. It also results in getting the clasp more centered under your wrist. Using that trick and the half link, I got a perfect fit.

Oh go on then! It is a rather lovely watch. I’m currently waiting for the green dial 36mm version and can’t wait to get that call. I’ll have a decision to make when / if it comes as it’ll be a straight shootout between that and my explorer!

You mentioned in previous posts you are a keen seiko collector? Be interesting to see your seiko collection as I have a few myself. Great watches and where it all started for me!

I’ll put together a few boxes full of my favorites, and post a pic tomorrow, or just PM you a pic. I don’t think most members here would have much interest. I have a bunch, mostly mid tier divers, but a nice smaller vintage collection, too. As for the green OP, It would have been my second choice. As for the Explorer, I’d love a 36 mm (the earlier one)

The Tudor S&G watches are also gold capped, not solid gold. This is a comparison of the S&G link vs an old hollow Rolex link - newer Rolex links are solid and have a lot more material.

The crown and bezel are solid gold, the bracelet is capped.

Also, on the topic of the rivets. They’re fine, you won’t notice them and this is from someone who wishes they weren’t there.

I never notice them, but I don’t mind them , either. I think it’s cool that Tudor made their bracelet a little different from Rolex. Rivets and the snowflake hand are both polarizing…..
