I saw a guy at the mall wearing the new Smurf. A few years ago I saw the OG Smurf being put in the case at the AD. It was gorgeous.

I used to own one, sold it last year after 7 years of ownership. I have never seen any other Smurf in the wild.

I went to test drive an Acura like 15 years ago. A car salesman in the showroom was wearing a Smurf. I stared at it long enough that he stared back at me LOL. Ive heard salesman make good money but to drop that kinda money on a very discrete low key watch is very rare. It was cool but i think the new black dial blue bezel model is a little more balanced. The blue dial on the original smurf is very striking. I prefer the black dial.

I've seen one. I was in a watch shop browsing and this guy brought in the most absolutely beat up copy I've ever seen. Bracelet hanging on by a thread (Not the springbar but where the bracelet attaches to the SEL), chunks knocked out of the bezel, gouges in the case and bracelet. It was well loved to be sure! Wanted to have the bracelet from his other Rolex (GMT) swapped onto the Sub while the sub bracelet was being repaired. Didn't care that one was stainless and the other was WG. He let me look at the watch and for the life of me, other than the weight, I couldn't tell the difference between WG and SS.

Same here, but I was underwhelmed with the condition of it. Cool watch, but I think I prefer the modern iteration.

Fair play if that’s the case and apologies. But it wasn’t exactly made clear in your post.

The 116619LB is the only Sub Date I have ever seen on display for sale at my AD. It was stunning. I nearly bought it. My head still congratulates me for not being profligate but my heart has never forgiven me.

See them fairly regularly in Singapore.

Was on display at an AD in NYC around 5 years ago and they were pushing it hard. Didn’t like the blue on blue.

It's an awesome piece

Saw the same guy and his brother a few months ago at the same place. I showed him mine and he laughed.
His brother handed me his Platinum DD40... immediately became a new grail

Answer is no - and I feel like I’ve mostly seen Subs and Daytonas , I’m nosy too and like to ask people about their watch, some being friendly others freaked out ..

One. In Vegas while watch browsing in the Wynn mall or one of those places, I was wearing my Milgauss and another browsing customer was wearing Smurf. This was cir: 2019. Although a pretty watch, it has a little TOO much blue for me. Which is why I bought the 126 about 6 months ago with NO regrets. Both great though overall of course, but I prefer the 126 case and offset colors.
