You can get a Datejust any time, the Daytona is hard to get and an all time classic! If you have a chance, get it!!!

Never had the DJ2 on the wrist, but I love the original DJ, it gets worn on a fairly regular basis.

But the Daytona has found a way to steal almost all the wrist time for me the last year. I actually only take it off to play golf, and that is only because it is uncomfortable. I really like everything about this watch.

Especially my sons name on the caseback.

Daytona,

I think it's a fashion effect, the DJII, if you want to still classic, Dayto is the best way to join the way

Both are excellent watches - you need to try them both on and see which one really appeals to YOU.

After all, you're the one who's going to be wearing it and YOU should be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Good luck in your final decision,

JJ

Go with the try them both on option.

I don't like either so I won't tout one above the other.

I wanted to say the same thing and ask him instead to go for the GMT-IIC, but since those were the only options, I desisted!!

Datejust II

I do not like the Daytona for some reason. I do not understand their popularity. They look like a cheap breitling to me. Sorry Daytona fans. Loving my datejust II. Also, anything smaller than the 41mm datejust seems so darn small. My wife thinks anything smaller looks femine.

ouch... that'd offend most people here....

to be fair, even though a DJII is 41mm, but the overall size (ie. dial + bezel + case) is not bigger than most 40mm Rolex sports watches

picture tells a thousand words

Daytona is sporty but do not know if I get tired of Cosmograph

I dont care for the 41mm Rolex models at all. The whole beauty of those dress models was the understated elegance and beauty. While "small" by today's standards they are plenty big at 36mm for dress attire.

I would go with a Daytona all day long.

If the DJ II in 41 mm had not arrived, i would not wore a Rolex... For us with large wrists a 36mm is way to small, and a Daytona looks funny on a larger wrist.... I say either a 41mm DJ or mabye if Rolex had made a 44 mm Daytona.... :)
