Submariner for me. No substituting it in its realm IMO.

The Sub 14060 clearly wins
The Tudor is beautiful but the Sub is another level |

I would go for the Sub… if you regretted it down the road you could always sell it and get your money back. But if you really want a Sub and compromise now for the BB, you may regret it and then a few years from now Sub prices may have gone up…

I would take the Sub all day between the two... Honestly the whole push for the latest and greatest or extremely long power reserves is not an issue for me... Simply wear it daily and no need for any PR over 48hr. And in reality I would prefer a manual wind anyway...

14060 is an icon, BB58 is built better and has a better movement. The nice thing about the BB58 is you can buy it and take it anywhere. If you’re ok with buying the Sub and having it serviced to make sure it’s waterproof than it’s really up to personal preference.

Fair question.
I have both. Blue dial bb58 & 14060. Bb has domed sapphire crystal and larger hands and is .4mm thinner than the sub. All significant details for me. The bb movement has a longer power reserve… nice but irrelevant as I have never had a need with my sub. I remember reading that Bb movement might simply be replaced in service. In the end, the sub is a timeless wristwatch and among the most iconic ever produced. The bb is nice and captures many elements of that amazing sub but it is not the sub. Finally you may be less of a target with the Tudor on your wrist than the Rolex but who knows.

You can't go wrong with any of them but I'd prefer 14060 because it's a Rolex.

Don't like the BB58 snowflake hand, fake rivets, and prefer the look of 916L steel.

I bought my 14060M in December 2011, just before the 114060 was introduced at Basel 2012.
I've never regretted that stroke of happenstance.

A BB58 will not replace the desire for a Sub.
It’s an incredible watch for sure, especially on paper. I like the aesthetic better than the Sub you’re considering. However, if you “settle” for the Tudor, you’ll end up longing, maybe even more so, for the Rolex. To ease a little of the “is the Tudor technically a better watch?” feeling. It could be, BUT, it lacks the decades of proof that a 5 digit Sub has. While the BB58 looks superior on paper, the Rolex has proven it’s durability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A G-Shock isn’t a mechanical watch so apples and oranges. If we were discussing quartz watches I would absolutely agree. The Tudor is far superior in fit/finish to the droves of homages. Furthermore, a BB58 is actually an homage to its own brand or line of watches. All that said, I argued FOR the Sub over the Tudor so I’m not sure what flaws you’re finding in my statement??? Oof, ya I was not getting that lol. Thanks for clarifying :) The Ginault looks nice and I could see why someone might prefer it over a BB58. I have a very classic taste with modern expectations and I like the Tudor brand quite a bit because of how they fit within that for me :) However my 116610 is far and away my favorite watch in my collection!
