The first thing I did with mine is have a custom Omega style deployment strap made up for it. I would love to fit an Omega Platinum deployant clasp, but they're asking stupid money for it.

So a stainless deployant will have to do until I can source a Pt on the secondary.
Congrats to the OP on a wonderful watch. I have one along with SS version and wear both fairly often. I also added a deployant clasp with matte black strap. I did go with the Omega platinum clasp and love how it wears. I have a few Platinum references, primarily from Patek, and while 5970P and 5070P are my two favorites on straps this piece has been getting a lot of wrist time over the last year (all three are based on the Lemania 321 movement). Love the black Onyx dial which has a similar distinctive depth as the 5370 black enamel I own

Enjoy it and wear it

Beautiful. Congrats on the new piece. I would be interested to know how much Omega wants for the deployment clasp.

If the Canopus Gold is $8600 I can only imagine the price of a platinum.

With all due respect - yes the onyx dial is nice but it’s not close to the deep ink of the 5370p enamel dial

I won’t disagree or debate you on this. The depth of black that the enamel dial provides is incredible. This is most apparent when side by side with the 321P. But I only wear one at a time and when wearing the 321P, I am still drawn to the depth of black on the Onyx dial. So similar but not equal or in your words not close

I believe like you;I wear and enjoy both

In regard to pictures, I am down in the desert for a few weeks enjoying 70+ degree weather. I only have some of my collection here. The 321SS and 5370P are at my main home. I took a picture of some I do have here and a picture of the 5070P, 5970P and 321P side by side. You can see deployant on the 321. I also included an old picture taken right after I acquired the 5370

Lastly I just got a call from my AD and he has a Canopus 321 for me. I won’t be back for a couple weeks and have not seen in the metal yet. Want to see how it wears but as of now still on fence

Def curious to see how you like the Canopus 321. Pricing aside I’d love to hear your take on it

Will update in a few weeks. “Pricing aside” is how you have to view this to pull the trigger. No way to justify on value.

Someone posted this link on another site which discusses the history of Lemania movement. I found it interesting and had not read before. The significance of the Omega brand with respect to the movement is called out along with some other brands

I have told my boutique they are not allowed to sell me this watch. It’s only my OCD that wants it as I have the other two!

Beautiful collection you have. Stunning…….

IMHO, this is the most special Speedmaster you can get. I've got mine on an OEM grey alligator strap with the Omega platinum folding clasp...yes, it was ridiculously priced, but makes the watch immensely more special (and balances out the weight).

I've gone back and forth on moving from it - it spends the vast majority of time in the safe since i don't want to scuff it up...

We'll see if it sticks around or gets more wear. But, enjoy a few snaps:

I understand how special the watch is and only 50-60 are produced worldwide each year. And I understand that the c.950 321 stainless steel watches still have lengthy and deserved wait lists and no discounts.

Yet does this watch sell for full retail considering the massive price hike relative to the stainless steel is the platinum variant. Or is there a huge queue out the door for these too?
