I don't know where in Japan you tried to purchase a GMT, but you must have been looking in the wrong places. New, used, grey, and othewise are plentiful, and available in Tokyo for sure.

Has anyone noticed that the Rolex webpage (at least USA's version) to configure the GMT Pepsi shows the bezel, but will not permit it to appear on the watch? I understand all the discontinuation rumours, but I thought it curious that it cannot be configured on the website. Did anyone else notice this? I bring it up on this thread because it may be relevant to the OP if it truly has now been discontinued.

I’m able to configure any bezel right now, you must be doing something wrong.

Apply the money for the flight and trip towards the watch from a trusted seller and be done with it. Zero chance of going there and returning with a BLRO. Sorry to sound negative but it's the reality. However it looks like that model may have topped out so go for it.

Are you sure you're not looking at a cached page? I did it from scratch and get the same result. Whether I choose the Pepsi or Green bezel, it then goes to the Bezel-Dial-Bracelet next page and lets me select only one other dial. When I select it, it shows the destro green GMT, but there is no selectability for the Pepsi.

No not cached, from clear cookies.

What is happening is that there are actually TWO dials for the GMT. The VTNR has its own dial and therefore can only be configured one way. Select the other dial and you will be able to configure the different bezels.

Go enjoy a nice vacation in Europe. If you can get a watch while there then it's a bonus. But by the time you spent the money on traveling, if you're just going to get a watch, you'll spend far less just going gray.

i heard some cruise ships have ADs with dedicated supplies

maybe skip the europe trip and go on a cruise with an AD on board, roll your dice there

this idea may sound ridiculous, but so is your question i am afraid.

You will pay over MSRP, but you will get your new Pepsi, and not have to travel to Europe.

What would the whole trip from Asia to Europe cost? Seems like you would be better off just buying one off the secondary market as the premium would then be offset somewhat by the cost of your trip not taken.

Geneva is a beautiful city and worth the visit. The Rolex boutique is a great place to pop in and try on any model you want, but as many of have said, the chances of getting any Rolex, especially a Pepsi, is slim to none. You may be able to score some Rolex chocolates! Many locals are on lists at the various Rolex stores and have been for a while.

Given the expense of purchasing a round trip ticket, hotel cost, food, taxi/car, etc. and the uncertainty of actually finding one to buy, wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a pre-owned model?

Walk into the hour glass or cortina, hint that you'll bundle some non-Rolex watches together with the Rolex GMT. If that works do report back and good luck!

Terrible idea op. In theory it makes sense, so I can understand your logic. It’s for the same reason you don’t go to Germany to buy a Porsche, or Italy to buy a Ferrari - like these brands, the VAST majority of Rolex are made to be sold for EXPORT.

Country of origin often has a very small allocation, certainly when compared to the global market share.

Save the money you would pay for flights, accommodation, food, entertainment etc. and go with a reputable GREY market dealer. Skip the BS and get the watch you want.

It’s a buyers’ market today.

I was in Europe last October and visited 10 plus Rolex Ad's....no stock and for exhibition only!
I would consider other brands and enjoy the sight seeing!
