Yeah I still have the same SA, if I’ve ever mentioned it they just say there’s no visibility on when they receive these type of pieces, typical AD speak… I think as others have said it was a one time chance and I was just unlucky with the timing, just find it a bit bizarre they wouldn’t offer it again. |

Yet another AD "love" story with a Ike Turner ending.

Share your concerns with that AD. Preferably, not with the same SA.

This is my thought also. Pretty lousy AD if payment in full was offered.

It makes no sense that they wouldn’t accept full payment, then keep it in the safe, until your return. Someone else, who is away, for 4;more weeks, just got his call, for a brand new Rolex, paid for it, and will collect it, upon his return. Your AD has an unreasonable policy. Maybe find a new one? In the meantime, go grey. Life is short!

I got the call for my BLNR while out of the country for a few weeks. Gave them my CC over the phone, paying in full that day and then picked it up when I was back home about two weeks later.
I know this doesn’t help you but this is the way for anyone encountering this situation in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It’s like being ghosted by a girl you were dating. Yes, she didn’t actually tell you she didn’t want to see you again, but she ghosted you bro.

I recently picked up a Batgirl. A few months when I got on the list a asked for either Batgirl or Pepsi. The store manager said go for either but as Rolex were having consistent issues with the bezel on the Pepsi, they were not getting any coming in. Over this time I was told when I picked up the Batgirl that they were getting these in but so far no Pepsi's.

Oh man! I can imagine the gutted feeling you had and have! That's terrible! What a dumb store policy. I can totally understand needs to be picked up by the person who registered for it. However, they should make it PAID for within 7 days by the person who registered for it. Then, picked up by the same person anytime afterwards. As long as it's paid for, they should work with that! These stores/management running it need to understand that people have a life too. Nobody is gonna hang around local forever to wait for a call that may never come in!

I’ve never experienced the true AD feeling, but that’s ridiculous in my opinion which is one reason I’ve never bothered with an AD.

My AD also has a policy not to hold watches but they know I'm good for it and I've never paid for a watch prior. I would agree they could have at least allowed you to pay for it and hold it? Very odd. I think you're Donald and should just pay for a new grey market Pepsi. If Rolex discontinues it you'll really be bummed as grey prices will skyrocket and you'll obviously never get one new from an AD (unlikely anyway). Once its on your wrist you'll forget about the $$

Unfortunately there was definitely no opportunity to pay for it via credit card or bank transfer then collect at a later date. Trust me, I tried to do this!
This is a Watches of Switzerland policy within the UK, I’m surprised more people haven’t missed out on watches on here as they’re such a large group. I actually have an email with their terms and conditions with regard to a registration of interest. Some key points are: 1. We will never take payment for the purchase of a timepiece by any other method than in-store payments. We will never ask you to transfer money into any bank account, or ask you for your credit or debit card details over the phone or by email. 2. We will reserve the timepiece for 48 hours for you to decide whether you wish to purchase it. If you do not offer to buy the timepiece, or contact the showroom within this time, the timepiece will become available to another client. In this instance your registration of interest will continue to be active unless you indicate otherwise. 3. If you offer to purchase the timepiece, full payment and collection are needed within one week from our initial contact. When your purchase is complete, the registration of interest will no longer be live. 4. When you collect the timepiece, you will need to bring a current photo driving licence or passport as identification. Yes it’s a strict policy, and not convenient to their customers (particularly ones who work abroad half the year like me) but the biggest gripe I have with it all is not being offered the watch again at a later point, is nothing other than bad customer service. |

Kennedy Jewellers in Australia. This AD asked me to pay in full and then gave an outside time of 5 months. If not I could get funds back or put to something else. I was able to pay via bank transfer online. When the watch came in 4 months later, the prices had increased. No extra money was required and I was/am very happy.

I can't understand why they won't accept payment in full to hold onto it for you. Strange rule, it's not as if it's eating anything!
