Love it. Been eyeing an 80’s one for a while, good deals to be had for a solid gold watch. It’s great they brought it back. Prefer this over a 222. If they brought back the square design and had that kind of cash to blow, I’d def get one. Good job!

Exactly. Very ambitious. Way to kill the hype before it starts.
Buy at retail and sell for a steep discount.

I worked at a watch store back in 2018 and a guy brought in like three or four of these models and we wouldn’t give him more than the (weight x price of gold). He decided to keep them, which was probably smart. The watches literally had no value as watches at the time, and now they’re asking $73k. Crazy how times change…

I had a chance to see it at W&W. At the booth they had a number of the historical Polo pieces, where I discovered the both round and rectangular were made for both men and women at the time. In person, I prefer the round. With regards to cost, this is same as 222, 5811 and does use copious amounts of gold. I was reading these were also the same price as in the 80's inflation adjusted. Trying it on, it is heavy, and feels great on the wrist. While it is only like 7.5mm thick it is slab sided, so perhaps not as thin feeling as the number suggest, but still easily worn with a dress shirt and low profile. Compared to the original, this uses 3N yellow gold that is a little warmer from the 2N yellow gold used before. A ton of character and a great icon. Needless to say I was off to the local Piaget boutique once I got home to put my name down. While these aren't limited in numbers, they are limited production. They are saying pieces start rolling out in 2025. Easily best of show for me.
