Great watch! I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this vs the 116509 blue dial! Did you have any consideration for other daytonas?

Also to the people complaining about the nicknames, stop whining seriously.

I actually loved all the Daytonas on oysterflex but not on bracelet. I like how the oysterflex breaks up the watch vs. the metal bracelet. The ghost just happened to be the first one I could snag without paying an obscene markup.

Anyway congrats - great watch - but you are right, the new reference version is indeed better - not only due to the great little changes and improvements throughout - but mainly due to the glide lock as you mentioned! But hey, the good news is you can always just sell yours and get a new reference if as time goes on you just can’t stop thinking about it …. You won’t lose that much, so to me it would be worth it no doubt

Also, curious / what size straps are on there right now? What is the size or rather the circumference of your wrist?
The glide lock is not needed as much since the OF has a few milimeters of give due to the fins. Plus isn't the glide lock much longer then the standard clasp?

The 116 is the one I would choose since the ceramic ring is just for bling and will get messed up with wear. (Why use a material softer then ceramic to protect it?). Also the tiny, thin hour markers on the 126 leave too much space on the lighter colored dials. Enjoy your great pickup you got the superior model!!!

The glidelock on the OF Daytona is a little bit larger than the standard clasp. However, it is smaller than the glidelock on a Sub. So it's kind of in the sweet spot, and I just love it on mine.
