Never heard of these sub dials on the 116500. But how many forum members, myself included, read this thread and pull their’s out to check for a brownish tint on them………

Appearance can be deceiving, especially in pictures. Lighting can change anything. Also, in this pic… exact same lighting, just an angle change makes the second pic appear darker in color Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

lol. I personally have 4 Daytonas, and years of collecting experience. Please tell me a store that has more. I was trying to be helpful. Good luck with your search. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This past Sunday morning I grabbed my blue Skydweller to wear and I could swear it had a purple dial, after putting it on it was as blue as it was supposed to be. Rolex dials have a happy magic to them.

I fear that nothing good will come out of this thread. If this was actually a thing it would have been discovered/discussed many years ago. There are painstaking accounts and write ups of dial changes over the years and to my knowledge this has never been discussed or documented. As with others, my belief is it's an illusion.

They are rarely there, so the discussion appears to be floating in the air. No worries. How many did you compare at the same time? |

100 percent correct. When helpful members try to weigh in, they get ridiculed by the OP for their ignorance |

These images were actually taken with the same light shining on them.
Of course, there are those who would say that these are the same color. However, the colors look very different to me. I am sure there is no point in discussing this with someone who does not understand the difference. Thank you very much. |

Rare in-dials present on the black dial of the 116500LN
Quote:
My ceramic model April 2023 looks like the top. Creates a rainbow effect on the sub dials. 2014 one I owned looked like your bottom pic. Just bright and shiny.

It's possible that the earlier version of the 116500LN "diverted some of the dial from the 116520". Thanks for the helpful information! |

Yes that 2014 with bright white metal was a later 520 dial. I suspect the earliest 2016 ceramics would have it too.

I may be able to find the 116500LN I am thinking of wanting. I will try to find it in my own way a little more. |
