Looks great and hopefully it will keep proper time.

I sent my Sub from Delaware to Dallas via USPS Registered 2day Priority and the cost was $115. On the return, Rolex billed $100 shipped via Fed Ex overnight,

I’m generally not a fan of Daytonas but that’s the watch I’d ask for if the watch genie only gave me one wish. I’m happy that you got it back safely and in such lovely condition.

I'm glad to see you are still carrying the Platona banner. Mine was getting pretty beat up after a few years and I requested a polish of the bracelet by the AD who does overhauls. Because of the Platinum, it gets polished with less loss that other Rolex metals. Mine came back just like new. I really couldn't tell it had been worked on. Yours looks great!!! Congratulations!!

Did you go through an AD or direct with the Dallas RSC? Just curious because I've always used the AD but wondered if they were more of a middleman than anything else.

I read somewhere that polishing platinum involves "moving" the metal and less "removal". If true, can someone shed some light on this?

Straight to Dallas myself. I did use an AD once. The problem when you use an AD is that the RSC will not talk directly to you. All conversations had to go through the AD. Never again.

Looks great. I’m in the polish camp myself. Perhaps it’s because I’m Polish too. lol! Love that watch and it’s the most beautiful Rolex ever made in my opinion.

Looks great, I will never understand the do not polish contingency.
I’ve only had one watch sent to RSC in modern times, I let my AD send my BLRO to Dallas for a warranty check. I was not charged shipping either direction.

Makes me wonder about the chrono second hand getting stuck mentioned in the original post. Thanks for the thread OP. I enjoyed reading it and wish I was in the platinum club.

I had the exact same problem with my YG 116508. The second had would stick and the watch stopped working. Watch was bought in 2019 so still under warranty. Brought to my AD (i actually bought the watch from a grey) and they sent off to Dallas sac center. It took 6 weeks and it was fixed under warranty. No problems since.

That's an interesting observation. I just assumed the lubricant was drying out or insufficient and so the watch was slowing down a bit. But I don't really know anything about watch movements.

I went direct. I don't know if I'd have saved the $150 shipping costs if I went through AD, but decided I wanted to be in direct contact with RSC in case there was anything to discuss. On the info sheet, I put in something about how slow the watch was running and asked for a "light polish." Seems like the listened and did a nice job.

My warranty issue I handled by walking it into the RSC in Beverly Hills when we were in L.A. for a wedding. They shipped it to Pennsylvania and it was at my door step in something like 12 days. I don't know why my turnarounds have been so fast, but I'm certainly thankful. Since I daily this watch, and don't have my DJ with me, I was really missing having a watch on when it was gone. I tried wearing my Apple watch all the time (rather than just when exercising and streaming tunes), but didn't like the constant text message notifications, as life has been pretty busy recently. So I just used a phone to check time.

Looks amazing! I had my YG Daytona serviced in 2022 and it also looks amazing. Very happy with RSC and a light polish!
