Sounds like a team-building role play at work on problem solving

But yes, I agree it is a lot

I tend to agree that we don’t need all of that text on the modern Rolex watches.

The Daytona dial is already very busy without it.

Let’s not forget that the basic function is to be able to easily tell what time it is.

I think just the name of the maker is enough for example my PP 5066. Doesn't even have Swiss made on that ref. If you own a PP i think you already know its Swiss made

Fact is that at the time the dials were naked they could not give them away.

The modern ones with the superlative story on the dial are the most sought after watches in the history. Rolex is doing it just fine

Correct. There's maybe one other steel watch more coveted and it wasn't designed by anyone posting here.

Agreed. Far too much meaningless jargon, not required on the dial IMO.

Too much text on Daytona?

It’s definitely not a deal breaker for me, but less text would be nice.

It is a little busy. No sure why it has to say "Officially Certified".

The vintage models with 3 lines of text look cleaner.

But not a dealbreaker should i ever get the chance to own one.

6 lines including "Swiss Made"

Here's a little game...without looking, can you recite the lines?

I think the paragraph suits the current iteration. Rolex wouldn't be able to just erase some text, they'd have to re-engineer the entire dial layout if they moved to one or two lines of text.

Agree, too much text — same with the James Cameron model I owned. Tend to like cleaner dials these days.

One of the main reasons I never liked the Daytona, Chonographs already have a busy dial and adding a paragraph of text makes it even more so. Other reason is that it doesn't have a date...

Too much text on most Rolex watches. But not a big deal really.

I'll be honest after 3 weeks, I don't even notice the text on my SS black bezel daytona.

Who cares, you can flip it for double the price you'd pay at retail - don't let this minor detail stop you from becoming rich!
