The money you would have paid at the AD to get the watch is *substantially* more than the money you'd pay at gray. Not only is it not dirty, it's probably the smart move.

Congratulations on your new pickup! I'm sure you are going to love it!
Sometimes you have no option other than going grey. I had to do so recently for an Omega 50th Anniversary Silver Snoopy. I fell in love with this watch ever since it was released. However, there was simply no way I was going to get one from an AD (and they told me as such) so my only option was going grey. With the prices coming down to a somewhat reasonable level I purchased a NIB one from a reputable grey dealer in January and I haven't looked back. |

Congrats!
While I don't harbor much love for flippers who contribute to this, I don't blame buyers, because it's Rolex who puts us in this position by not figuring out how to meet, or at least modestly improve, supply/demand. I'll probably go grey for the piece I've been longing for for 3+ years now once I pay for some needed work around the house. We only live once. Cheers |

[QUOTE=rolexrmon;13173729]I feel a little dirty, I went to the grey, but I feel I’ve got a really good price on a 2024 new Daytona panda. I traded in a “spare” unworn two-tone, black face, Daytona, 2022+ cash.
I get it this week. And part of me thinks with the stock market at all-time highs and crypto flying again, it’s only a matter of time before these prices start to level out. It’s from a trusted seller, fresh with all the accompaniments. Quite frankly, I’m never going to get it from an AD, it’s the one I’ve always wanted, and I work hard, I’m in a position to do so, and I’m not getting any younger. my wife is supportive, so why not? I don’t have the same excitement as when I got the call, so I can understand those who prefer to wait and personally if I had a stronger AD relationship perhaps that would be the right choice but the reality is I’d end up with the black face and so I’d always feel, like it was the white I wanted. I hope I have your guys support and I’ll show you a picture later in the week. Good luck in your searches and enjoy your watches! My two watch collection is now the panda, and a two-tone Daytona. if you get me a Batgirl, then I’m happy for life. ……………. Actually, after dealing with quality resellers, folks in (todays) AD’s make me feel a little dirty ! |

Many thanks for all your messages. I’ve not been that active on the forum since I joined a few years back but I’m really impressed with the sentiment of the people on here. What a nice bunch. I hope to be more involved.
Anyhow, the watch is in transport right now and if all goes well, I should have it tomorrow. Looking forward to sharing the beauty |
