I'm seeing a lot of these go out. Must have been a batch shipped out to ADs recently.

Congrats on your quick turnaround! I love the no date.

Keep it !!!!

If your father in law is a really, really good man, you're wife secretly resents you for not living up to the same caliber.

I'm kidding (I think).

You must be pretty selfless to consider such a gift for your FIL. Good for you, keep this one, see how your father in law reacts to it and try to figure out which watch HE would pick if he was a buying a Rolex. Then, get on the list for that one.

Congrats on the 124060, it's one helluva watch!

Congrats!
Got my Sub after waiting for about a month too back in September 2023… I love it and hope you will love yours just as much!
Why don’t you keep it until the AD calls back… and see how your father in law reacts to it. When you get the next call, share the news with him and see which he likes best… then you can decide :)

If you love the watch keep it and wear it to the AD for future visits in order to maximize your chances of getting another piece such as a Pepsi or Daytona.
Since you’re on a watch forum, chances are you’d appreciate the ND Sub more than your FIL.

Congrats, that's great news! I just had a similar experience: approximately 4 weeks from "meeting AD" to "new Sea-Dweller".

Hopefully neither of us are that special, and maybe supply is catching up a bit?

I’m kind of proud that I had the patience to wait a full year to get my first AD allocation..

Yeah, that’s something that I have to consider even if I give it to my father-in-law. I know that they look at what watch you’re wearing when you come back in for another watch it’s is he wearing the watch that we gave him or did he give it away or sell it, so I understand that that’s an important factor.

But I have to say the person I was working with knew that I was possibly going to give this away as a gift so it’s not like it’s some big secret

The AD suggested you gift the first two? A little presumptuous of her, thinking you’re made of money. Classic watch but what are you really after?

Yeah but I won’t just take any piece. There’s lots of stuff they could offer me that I would turn down. They know that I was after a submariner date or no date and explore two with a white dial and a few other ones until I get to the much harder ones.

I would like an OP Celebration Dial and Daytona Platinum. Depending on the watch, I would also be interested in other things offered, but nothing that I might sell if I only wear for a little bit and take a major hit.

I definitely caught the bug and I am happy collecting right now. But I actually wear all of these. That’s the only difference.

Thanks :) The fossil is the last gift my mother got me before she died of cancer. I was wearing no watches, then an Apple Watch. That’s the watch that got me thinking of watches. It’s my most valuable piece.

Sounds like a win / win deal. Those are the best kind. Congrats on the sub!
