Time to vote! Which duo do you choose?

Interesting options presented. I would not buy the 321 as I do not see enough of a difference between the 321 and the 3861 to justify the extra 10-12K. I am a huge Omega fan and have stated this opinion before but to each their own. I would keep the Hulk, though I sold mine this year, as it is a cool watch and unless you just want something different it covers the Submariner/dive side watch. The IWC is not for me and once again the price is not justified for what it is to me. Even in the secondary market they are way over priced. My AD is an IWC dealer and I have seen the watch and I can go so many other places for the money I would not. Now I have told you what I would not do so how about what I would do. The Daytona is a cool watch and a huge flex piece. If that is the one then that is the one so to say. I know you said brand diversity but for two significant pieces like the Hulk and the Daytona I might be able to make it without that diversity for a while. I assume you would be buying the Daytona in the secondary market and while prices have moderated slightly they are still significant. I might keep the Hulk, add the 3861 in the white dial and call it a day. Nice to have so many options. Let us know what you decide.

You've had a great relationship with that LV and I think you might miss it.
The white dial Ing is my favorite. I could see the LV + white Ing as a great option (sorry to add to the mix )

Of the choices presented Option A is the answer, both give rise to strong feelings, my acquisition barometer. I am indifferent to Option B, I don’t dislike them I simply feel nothing.

Tough choice. I would go with an Option C (Option Chronograph) with the 321 and the Daytona. That Omega 321 Calibre is a classic; it's a beast. And the Daytona, no words can adequately express how important and beautiful it is. Both watches are horologic titans.

Well, 126500LN + LV is easier since I already have the LV.

As for the comfort of the 321 vs Daytona, I know the 12 series Daytona fits like a beautiful glove…. I just need to find a 321 to try! All of the boutiques in Paris have told me the 321 isn’t even an exhibition model for them. So I’ve started contacting watch dealers….

For me, the Daytona isn’t a “flex” piece…. I’ve been around watches actively for over 15 years, and so the myth and legend + the looks + the technical elements all speak to me. That being said, I know that others look at it as a status symbol, which kind of turns me off.

As for 3861, I strongly prefer the black to the white. As for 3861 vs 321, I find myself strongly drawn to the 321’s movement and greater authenticity, plus the looks. For me, when talking MSRP, it’s worth the €8k extra. Especially for a “crowning jewel” of my collection.

Hi Travis! Yes, you know my long love for the OV LVc. Despite the still crazy money I can get for selling it to buy something else, I still love it. It’s still early in the thinking, but I’m pretty sure I can’t let it go. It’s just a great watch for me.

As for the IWC, I know you like the white Ingenieur best. It’s surely a beauty, but with my GS’s silver dial, I’m looking for something other than white.

I’m shooting for one special chronograph as the “crown jewel”, not two. :-)

I’m wondering if your reference to the 321 being a “beast” is about the significance and beauty of the watch, or if it’s about the perceived thickness some make comments about?

I would definitely not consider the 321 a beast it just sits up a touch like a Rolex diver due to the case back. Whereas the daytona sits flat but of course no gorgeous 321 to look at. The action on the 321 is lovely as well and I do sincerely appreciate the properly graduated sub dials.

I don’t see a LVc/IWC combo in my future, but I appreciate having another admirer of that watch. Seems like there aren’t many! ;-)

I can’t wait to try one on. I think ultimately that’s the only way I can decide this. But it’s a challenge to find one to see/try on…. Thanks for the comments.

This is the way. But I also see your thoughts on brand diversity, as having been on this journey for a while also, I’m leaning more towards some brand diversity too. Having said that, I would not get rid of the LV, any love loss that you may have currently in your head will turn into attraction if you just give it a little time.

I’m all for experiencing other brands, but considering these four particular watches, I would keep the Daytona and Submariner. So Option C. They’re just a step above the other two, in my opinion.
