You probably would enjoy a late 80's or early 90's 16610. My 91 14060 2 line is such a nice size on my smaller wrist. I once passed on a 34mm Olive and regretted it. I later on picked up 34mm 5500 Explorer 1 and it looks great also. A smaller mm watch works well with a non cluttered dial.

LOL we could have been sisters! My fascination with watches started when I was 7, also with a Timex Cavatina, manual wind. Other girls wanted Barbies, I was fascinated by the Timex display at Woolworth's. I wore that Timex until I graduated HS, when my mom bought me a gorgeous gunmetal Seiko, and then for college graduation I started with my luxury collection with my first Cartier. I love my collection and finding fellow women enthusiasts! :)

I’m so glad they allow us to take pics in the ADs. Imagine being in any other kind of retail store trying things on, and taking pics. Here’s what would happen: “Security!” I did buy a very dainty diamond station bracelet for under a thousand bucks, and quipped to the MGR: “Getting my spend up!” He laughed out loud and said, “Stop it!” I really am lucky to have found Devons, in Stockton, CA. If anyone lives in my area of CA, and needs a new AD, I highly recommend them. Feel free to say Kat sent you, and ask for SA Dawn. Kat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Cool Window Display at MY AD:
Quote:
I do want the Explorer more than the Celebration, and certainly more than the Candy Pink OP, which I tried on just because it was there, and thought people here would like to see it. AD personnel liked it on me. Oh, and I DON’T have money to burn, though my husband thinks I think I do…..He’s pretty supportive, though. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

What a great, upbeat and encouraging post, Kat — like so many of yours. I appreciate them and I appreciate you. Thank you.
So sorry to hear about your sub. Didn’t know that. It may be — and is — just stuff. But losing stuff you really enjoy is so disappointing. Great attitude, indeed, but I feel badly for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My AD told me Rolex send them exhibition watches and replace them with new ones. So exhibition watches never actually get sold. Not sure which is true though! Indeed a good answer by AD!

Cool Window Display at MY AD:

My Wimbledon was an exhibition piece, so your AD is telling you stories. Each AD pays Rolex for all the watches upon, or more likely, just prior to delivery. They are required to keep a certain number on display, at all times. They rotate the display pieces once a month, or so. The watches remain fully stickered while on display, to protect them. When they are switched out, they are sold to whomever has been allocated that piece. Many of us have purchased display pieces, either knowingly, or not. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Thank you for the post.
A GMT on a jubilee bracelet might be a better fit. I believe it slightly reduces the footprint of the case. You are lucky to have this AD nowadays. Have a great weekend. |

This is almost heresy for me to say as a Celebration fan and owner, but I like the candy pink color on your wrist shots the best. It may obviously depend on outfit and a bunch of other factors as to which one is best at the time, but on the plain wrist shots I like the pink the best.

I think staff liked it best, too. They were kind of encouraging me to love it. I already have a nice silver OP, though. I owned the red grape for awhile, and got tired of it. I’m drawn to more classic colors. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

That’s an unusual display that I haven’t ever seen elsewhere. Thanks Kat.
I wonder if Rolex will roll this out across other ADs

Good question. I know my AD follows Rolex’s guidelines to the letter, so if they were told to buy this new display sculpture, and put it in their window, they immediately complied. In case folks aren’t aware, each AD has to pay for all the Rolex signs, furniture, cases, etc. Rolex tells them how to make their areas look, but the owner of the AD foot’s the bill. Nice! I haven’t had the opportunity to see a Daytona, even as a display piece. I was able to see the blue Skydweller on Jubilee, though. That was sharp, though much too big for my wrist. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I was at my AD last weekend, they had both SS Daytonas on display. Kind of boring…
