Hahaha

Well, I am in Financial Services. I see no Rolexes in my workplace, although I spied a SS Sub in a vendor meeting last week. However, my division is filled with some pretty bland folks. No surprise there is not much in the way of taste / excitement.

I was in high tech a couple years ago for 12 years, but dont recall seeing too many Rolexes - even among the high-flyer dot come dufuses.

I got my Sub because I recently got into Omegas and then branched out. Love my new hobby - but my savings acct does NOT. Esp since I am favoring new Rolexes Vs. others. (Although I am looking at a Sinn 556 - cool minimalist design / cheap compared to Rolex & Omega!)

I really find myself fascinated by watches now and the great designs by Rolex. Dont give a hoot about what the non-believers think! I only need to please myself. Also like chatting with the members here!

I also happen to have a 3 series BMW.

And what is it about Florida? Most of the key Forum Rolex sellers are there, lots of Forum members...Hmm.

And lawn mowing dudes with Bluesy Subs??? Rolexes must fall from the sky in FL! ;-)

Plenty around and plenty of "true Rolex jerk" wearing them. Where I live Rolex is still associated too much with jerkosity, showoffness and money money money. Oh wait...isn'it like that all over the world ?? Pretty much so unless you are a real WIS...
and plenty of boring BMW's too of course....

I see them on almost every customer at work....

But to be honest, I do see them a lot around here... people just walking around, shopping or whatever.

I work for a bank and in my office there arent too many Rolex but there are plenty of Breitlings, Tags and Omegas. Seem to notice more Rolex's on my clients, a couple of clients have commented on my Sub but no colleagues.

No, they are not common in my workplace. In fact, I can't recall ever seeing another one on anybody's wrist. I wore my GMTIIc every day for 22 months, and a grand total on one person has noticed. I think the dearth of expensive watches comes down to the fact that most people are unwilling to spend a lot of cash on a watch.

Out and about, I do see Rollie's from time to time, mostly Subs, occasionally GMT's and Daytona's.

I am a university professor. Only three in my administrative unit of about seventy faculty wear Rolexes. I have noticed more in the business school--they are better paid.

I've only seen one or two people wearing them at work. I guess it depends a lot on the work environment.

Boatloads of GMT and Subs around here and our office in Zurich. Lot of Pepsi's, black SS subs and the occasional Coke. The dressy guys all have IWC or Zeniths - will probably be my next piece.

I think that the purchase of a rolex, omega or breitling is nearly a requirement for many physicians when they complete residency training. Most rolexes are DJs and Subs. I'm the only one that I am aware of with a SD, and that's just fine with me. I bought an IWC when I graduated from med school. Not many of them around the hospital either.
Afterall if you don't want to buy one, you can always steal one (see below).
Regards,

I forgot to say in the original post actually, that my boss also has a TT daytona, and the guy in the next office has a datejust (one I really don't like).

I work in a bank, so I guess its to be expected to an extent, but I still find the sheer number of them much higher than I expected. We do have about 10, maybe 20 AD's in Athens which is an unusually high number IMO, but of course they also sell other brands and products, so I don't know what volume of their business is in Rolex. There are also 3 Rolex boutiques in town.

As a person who intended to buy Rolex, but bought Omega, Rolex is a bit too common.

I've seen a few others at work wearing Rolexes, only one in my group: a gal in marketing wears a TT lady datejust (and, interestingly enough, also drives a 3 Series ) Also, I saw one of the guys from legal wearing what appears to be an Explorer I, but couldn't get close enough to see for sure.

A few of the guys (including me) have Breitlings, there's one IWC, but the luxury (or near luxury if you prefer) brand I see the most is Tag Heuer.

In our neighborhood there are is one couple who both have two Rolexes (blue TT Sub and TT Datejust for him, TT and 18K lady datejust for her), and one other guy who used to wear a nice Maurice Lacroix and a VC Double Eagle, but anymore he wears only a Victorinox on a strap. I'm trying to figure out if he sold the VC, or if it was a ringer that he stopped wearing once he figured out I'm a WIS in training.

I see a lot of them around, though, mostly SS Subs, followed by TT Subs and Datejusts, occasionally Presidents.

Have been trying to spot another Rolex owner in the company I'm working in. So far, none. What surprises me is that I can't find anyone wearing an automatic watch.

No, I would not say common. But if I do see one it will usually be the Submariner or the Datejust, occasionally the Day-Date.

If I go into the grocery store around the corner I will see at least 3 Rolexes.

If I go to Whole Foods across the street you can triple that #.

Heck, last week I was at the grocery store and the kid bagging up my food had on a Sub and he was clearly still in High School.... In this area I don't even ? it being authentic....
