I bought my BLNR in 2015 before they were even popular, so it isn’t a fair comparison. I called an AD I had never dealt with, asked if they had one and they said yes. I drove there and bought it. I got 7% discount! One of my best purchases ever. I’ve bought more from them since. I’ve never asked to go on a waiting list there.

I had expressed an interest in a Submariner LV and a BLNR on Jubilee at a brand new WOS that opened in late winter 2022. 5 weeks later, I got the call for the LV. 2 years later in June of this year, I got the call from the same AD for the BLNR on Jubilee. I have no idea that the earlier purchase in 2022 contributed to being able to buy the BLNR but it does seem so?!

Engagement ring in 2019 and then I got the GMT in March of 2024 after waiting for 3 months. My story is a bit unique, as I was expecting a Sub for my 40th and never was on their list. I wrote some online reviews and the manager called me and asked me what they could do to make it right.
I bought the Sub grey and asked for the GMT and received it three months later. I've seen sold the sub. |

For the last GMT received… it was 3 other stainless steel models, 3 other lower priced brands like $100-1000 each.
It took about 3 years total though. |

Oh boy..Rolex retail buying is strictly a big YMMV situation. I know people who've got purchase history but still no watch after 1 year.
Then people like me with no purchase history and rep gave me the sub date in only 7 weeks! Now working with same rep for my BLNR. What I did was cast a bigger net and got my name on waitlists at 3 ADs in my area (within a 150 mile radius). One of them came thru, basically. One of them actually flat out told me on my face that "sub date" is a very privileged watch and I have to buy a Tudor to step my game before being put on the waitlist. I never stepped back in that AD.

It really is country dependent I think. I got my GRNR after 50k of spending.
I think in some place 50k isn’t even enough to be considered for the list. |

Got a Sub date, Exp 1 and DJ 36. Got a BLRO after those and waited 4 years to the day after my 1st purchase with my AD.

$13k on DSSD JC before BLRO only 4 months later, but that was back in 2018/2019.

I walked into Gandelman’s in Aruba in 2015 and bought my batman out of the case. I had no prior history with them.

Mostly a lurker, but I purchased a BLNR on Jubilee as 'almost' a walk in. Was on the 'list' at my local AD who lost their status, they put me on to another AD in the next province over (Canadian!) who promptly shagged me about and tried to get me to buy diamond earrings to move up the list. I ended up writing a letter as well and got a call from the owner (long story short). Regardless when I was in the area for something else a year later I dropped in and had some nice chats and looked at multiple brands, and they offered me a Root Beer which I turned down (I was already wearing a bluesy didn't want two bimetal watches) but I expressed interest in the Batgirl they had on display and they sold it to me on the spot... I do believe it helped actually showing up in person with my girlfriend, got on well with what seems to be the main SA there, and just wasn't a dick lol. Just a normal dude trying to buy a watch to keep...

I didn't expect any watch so I was honest in my comments about the experience, which I think struck a cord. |

Zero. Plus the Hulk just sat there in the case for days (weeks?).

To clarify, this was over a total period of 3 years or so. The timing was actually after I enquired about the timepiece. My approach is to ask only when i seriously want and am ready to purchase, and then I don’t bother them for the rest of the time. They appear to respect this and mostly deliver when I actually ask. Saying that, a 36 Celebration for my wife and a black Daytona for me are both equally ‘unobtainium’ lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I got my BLNR with no wait but still a premium from the AD. There was a period of time when AD was allowed to sell hot Rolex at a premium, roughly priced at market rate.

I was able to get a GMT Pepsi BLRO in about 3 years. And that is the only one I got from the AD. There were many calls I got for DJ, PM Daytonas and YM but I didn't want them. All of my other watches are from grey brand new unworn. If time is more precious for you than the $ premium then go grey. It certainly is for me

Bought a sub, got a Pepsi pretty much immediately. At the other AD bought 3-4 Tudors and an explorer, should have my GRNR later this year. So probably 5-6 months after i asked or whenever it came out to now.
