I think it just depends on what they are producing at the time. Sometimes more Daytonas other times they ship more Pepsis.

Maybe next year rolex will change the colour of the pepsi for the 70th anniversary like starbucks mk2, or maybe they release the coke

There are multiple GMT’s. A simple bezel swap and you have a Batman, no differently than switching a dial on a Daytona.

If you have the Pepsi keep it. Trust me it is and will be rarer than the SS Daytona in the long run. Pepsi with three complications and stunning two shade ceramic will be more scarce than the panda Daytona.

No surprise, If you are a watch nerd you know that the Pepsi is far more superior than a panda Daytona. Be aware buying a Daytona from the gray market. Just my 2 cents being in the Rolex world for the last 20 years.

I’m not a watch nerd. What makes the Pepsi far Superior ? I had a BLRO and it fell flat for me.

Is this Saturday night drinking talking?? In no universe could you even compare the workhorse 32 series movement to the 4130 in the Daytona as it’s regarded the best modern movement Rolex has ever made. I own both and the two watches are in different tiers.

Don't know if this is accurate or the truth but my local AD got 4 steel Daytonas and 2 Pepsis in 2023 supposedly

The white gold Pepsi is easier to obtain. Been offered one every year for the last 3 years even when the ADs know I already own one.

I recently saw a white gold pepsi with black dial for £22k in the UK through a well known grey. If I was in the market for one that would tempt me.

I read that there are slight differences in fit for the pepsi so it can't be swapped with the BLNR. Also, I'm not sure it's a simple procedure as they are susceptible to cracking.

Don’t see the grey market price increasing for the BLRO though

I think they can get a steel Daytona before a Pepsi as there are 2 variations compared to the one for the Pepsi. The real question is can they deliver the Customer a Daytona before a Pepsi. I think all things equal the SS Daytona in black and white is a harder get than the SS Pepsi.

Possibly the panda- Pepsi - black Daytona in terms of difficulty at retail.

Hi, what do you mean by ‘be aware buying a Daytona from the grey market’? Could you kindly clarify?

That wouldn’t be easy to do as you’d need to source that bezel, and the 24 hour hand too

We have 8 varaitions of the Rolex SS GMT based on bracelet and bezel color. All 8 are good looking and are more alike than different except for the Sprite.

The SS Daytona you only have 2 options Black and White although they are the same watch they look so different which make them a great pair to own.

Obviously a typo

Pepsi is and always will be the ultimate Rolex steel sports watch and it’s not going to change.

They are both mass produced watches. Anyone with the money can buy one tomorrow. The Pepsi is horologically significant and has a history and pedigree that a Daytona can only dream of.

Maybe the older ones - the new ones needs a color fix asap. The BLNR is the best modern GMT imo.

Correct. The bezel on the 126710BLRO (not only the insert) differs from the other steel versions and has a different part number.

In my last purchase (VTNR) my AD asked what is next; I told him Daytona; He asked black or white, no more questions.
When I told him my interest to expand GMT’s collection, he raised his voice a bit worried and asked me: a Pepsi?
Maybe a current status summary for this matter

This new “rare GMT” narrative seems to be a way of moving the BLRO up to increase its AD bundling potential.
Take how you feel about the BLRO and it’s just another GMT out of the equation and look at the market. The BLRO is by far the most wanted GMT and by a long mile. The BLRO goes for a very significant premium over the others!. The people have spoken lol. Like they say the truth doesn’t care about my feelings or yours.
