I would never spend that coin on a new one like that. If anything I would apply the funds towards a 90s vintage model.

You are paying that price point almost exclusively for the value of solid 950 platinum. It's a big heavy watch and a lot of platimum.

The amount of Platinum does not reflect the price. Someone will come along in a bit and give you the price of Platinum and based on weight the amount in the watch. Plenty of discussion on the Rolex side of thing as to why the disparity and the general conclusion is that it is seen as more exclusive.
