Yes. I’ve come to appreciate Tudor more and more. I think they are making some great watches. To me they remind me of Rolex before Rolex grew up and got more douchy.

Huge fan of Tudor. I care very little for Rolex these days.

That said, I've owned my fair share and loved every single one at the time. All the touch points are absolutely on point.

I’ve had a GMT and a BB58, and both are gone. The only Tudor that I’m at all interested in these days is a Ranger.

Has anyone grown to appreciate Tudor more and more over time?

Same.

I feel like some aspects of Tudor watches are intentionally poorly executed. And not in a way that saves money to keep prices low, but in a way that makes sure they can’t compete with Rolex.

I don’t like intentional underperformance.

This was my problem - for the BB58 why don’t they have the coin edge bezel? That’s so important on a diver watch that represents the brand.

I enjoy my BB41 monochrome. I also really like my Pink Chrono. Both are on the 5-link bracelet which I find very comfortable. The T-fit clasp or a similar version should be on most watches.

I would be interested in a monochrome version of the BB58 GMT on 5-link, unless that is getting too close to the design language of the GMT II.

Definitely. My first Rolex was a Sea Dweller (will never sell) and I also have a panda Daytona. My black bay 58 is a nice subtle watch to wear in place of my sea dweller and for some reason I prefer my Tudor panda chronograph to my Daytona. Don’t get me wrong, the Daytona is a kick ass watch but there’s just something about the Tudor panda that resonates with me. Couple that with the fact that I am in sales so a Rolex is not always welcome when I go see customers.

Love my Tudor GMT and Chrono, especially when on a 5 link bracelet. The 5 link makes a huge difference in my opinion. Both are in my normal rotation.

Oh it looks great on the Pepsi,

Yes I agree the 5 link bracelet is fantastic and one of the key reasons I picked the Tudor to the zenith

Tudor makes some nice watches. The chrono is overly thick in my opinion.

Yeah - When hiring your next VP of Sales, make sure they have not done well for themselves. That's a surefire way to hire a good one.

I get a strange feeling that every time Tudor finishes a new watch design, they must send it to Rolex for "approval" and purposely have to dial things back (pun intended) to underperform so they don't overshadow Rolex.

Agreed. The bb58 without faux rivets and the gilt could be amazing. The bb58 gmt without faux rivets would have destroyed the rolex gmt for half the price.

I’m always pleasantly surprised by Tudor. They have the ability to try different things and experiment which Rolex tends to play it pretty safe. Both are awesome but I’m always pleasantly surprised by Tudor given the price.

The only 2 brands I am interested in owning are Rolex and AP. I want to own a few special watches, not a big collection, and I feel I'd be just adding to my collection of watches that would sit in the safe and not get as much use.

That being said, it doesn't mean that I don't admire other brands and the fine watches they make.. being a mechanical watch enthusiast keeps me interested in all of the brands (such as Montblanc, Tudor, Zenith, Omega, Patek, and IWC for example). I have fantastic self control and don't like to "collect".

I currently own 7 Rolexes from vintage to modern references, but I still find the BB54 very appealing. I’d like to add one to my collection one day, however I don’t find other Tudor pieces as attractive. The BB58 GMT was nice but I don’t like the chunky case profile despite being 12mm thick.

I feel the same way. I tried it on not too long ago when my life looked at it. Now i want it for me. It’s awesome.

Yes. True watch people get enjoyment out of all kinds of watches, regardless of the price point.

I think there will be more interest in low-mid level luxury brands like Tudor, Grand Seiko, Cartier for the next 5 years or so. the fatigue over hype pieces from Rolex, AP, PP is quite real, and the threat of getting robbed or shot is tiring.

I think many collectors will want an entry level piece from the likes of Tudor to have a true daily beater without worrying about scratches, theft, etc....this was something that Rolex used to be

I feel the opposite - over time I have appreciated them less. I still really enjoy my Heritage Advisor (the only alarm watch Tudor/Rolex have made) and my Prince Date+Day but I have grown tired of the Black Bays.

I saw my first Tudor in 1970; a Submariner with snowflake hands. To this day I cannot stand the design. Sorry.

Enjoy Tudor and their tool watch style. Similar to how Rolex was before social media and all the hype/investment mindsets. Have two Tudor watches and they get just as much wear time, if not more, than my Rolex watches.

I like them a lot. My 'monochrome' BB is fantastic. I enjoy their in house movements. Super smooth to wind and set, and accurate.

As said on this forum, maybe it was this thread, I fear they are running out of steam because of sticking with a single theme so much.

But then, many watch companies do, also.

My fondness for the Tudor band is well documented. I agree w/ the OP on all accounts. The advancements & growth in popularity achieved since 2010 are pretty remarkable and something few really thought possible. But Tudor did and I could not be happier.

I like them way more now than when I first got into watches. You don’t have to play dealer games to get 99% of Tudors. That’s a huge win. They use more colorful and playful designs. They use titanium much more than Rolex. They offer multiple strap configurations for the same reference. That’s just a few.

Tudor has made some ugly watches too in the past decade, but the home run pieces far outweigh them.

I prefer them for worry free wear while on the go. As many have said prior the jubilee on the newer models are super comfortable and dress them up if needed making them very versatile. I’m undecided on my fxd gmt though.
