I'm anti date. Still seems like a totally unnecessary complication.

I don’t have any dealbreakers. But I tend to avoid excessive red or green on dials.

Dealbreaker for me: ugly watches. So, basically, anything made by Ulysse Nardin

Over 30mm and under 50mm for a round dial.

I'm with you on this. Just don't like the look. Prefer articulated end links.

Agreed. I should have put that on my original list. I’ve owned a few non-micro bracelets (Grand Seiko) and had to sell them because of wrist swell or just being in between link sizes so never getting a proper fit.

Micro adjust is a deal breaker for me. I install a ez link on vintage/neo vintage Rolex because it’s needed. The last watch i bought without one was a bb58, it didn’t last long.

Two tone and Roman numerals would be 2 that would instantly put me off a watch.

Got to be either steel or full gold, and romans ruin any symmetry on the dial and that important to me. Hence my two current Rolex are a Submariner ND and green OP.

Mine are 41mm or less dial 12.5mm or less thick and a ticking seconds hand at the center are a must. Daytona is the only exception

My showstoppers are:

More than 40mm case size
More than 48mm lug to lug
More than 12mm thick case
Anything overpriced
Any hard to read dials
Bi-metal watches

Pretty much the same for me.

An adjustable clasp probably exemplifies the comfort issue (for me) so that would maybe be a starting point

The ability to get a good fit on a bracelet/strap and the legibility of the dial.

I won’t buy a Rolex without knowing for sure that I am the sole owner!
Other than that, I buy what I like, or think I like. I will sell it on, if I’m wrong.

Dealbreaker for me: anything under 280 grams

I'd say 4:30 date window; pink or purple; regulator

Reading these comments I wonder what possessed me to buy this beauty, other than love at first sight, impulse, shopping in Singapore, like nothing else in my collection, eclectic,

I can’t do a date sub dial. I’ve tried before, but they are ridiculously small numbers that I can’t see.

There are a number of watches that I love but ultimately would pass on because of this. Patek Pilot Travel Time and VC Overseas dual time being two of them.

I was going to add a 4:30 date window to my list, but I would buy a Fifty Fathoms if the price was right, so I guess technically not a dealbreaker.

Outside of genera aesthetic features. I’m there on the 4:30 date window. I have an unreasonable hatred of them.

I really like the Seiko SPB381 overall but will never buy one just for that. I can live with the crown at 4, but the date window I just can’t do.

Dealbreakers for me (pretty much in order) -

- A lack of micro-adjustment on clasps.
- 4:30 date position.
- Anything other than sapphire crystal.
- Anything other than screw-link bracelets.
- Aluminium bezel inserts (nowadays at least).
- Non-tapering bracelets.
- Dials and handsets with no lume.
