Other Watch options, Sick of Rolex dealers and games
Hello Im wondering what other options guys here prefer over a Rolex? I am sick of the games the Rolex dealers play. I have been on a "waiting list" for over 4 years for a Stainless Skydweller, have checked in multiple times and still nothing at 3 different Rolex dealers Two in Naples fl and one in Park City Utah. Have emailed many times showed up in person many times. I own a batman I had to buy on grey market, I own a 1966 stainless Pre daytona and a 1968 Sub. All I wanted to do was buy a Rolex I like, new at the dealer, as my grandfather and great grandfather did before me. The two vintage watches I own are those watches. I refuse to go to a grey market and pay 5 to 10 K more than the watch sells for new. Is anyone else sick of these brands Ferrari, Hermes, Rolex... They sell product to grey market dealers or only to a customer who has bought many other products they don't want to get the one they do. This tactic has turned me off to these brands. Jay Lenno has stated he won't buy a Ferrari because of this. I do own a 458 Spider Ferrari and had to buy it on the secondary market as well. Now I say this not to brag i am very low key in life but I can write a check for any new rolex made even the most ultra rare models. Not a big deal but the fact that I can't go in and buy a stainless sport model with out buying other models or jewelry is a joke. Its a game they play and they say they don't but I have waited 4 years for a call on the watch I want, at three different Rolex dealers mind you, in towns I live, and have multi million dollar homes in. What more do I have to do to get a basic stainless sport watch? OK sorry for the rant, back to my original point..What other watches are quality and worth buying to own in your collection? I am considering the Omega speedmaster, Opinions on this? Are there any limited production speedster models coming out that I can get on a list for that could be a good investment as well as a beautiful watch to wear out? I would love to hear what others out there are moving to, to avoid Rolex dealer games and years of waisted waiting. Thank you in advance for any advice or opinions
