I'm looking for a 16600! If anyone has one or knows of anybody selling one in good condition with box and papers please let me know. Love this watch and can't wait to be a member of this club.

My T serial. Came on the proper oyster. Forced some stamped endlinks to accommodate the jubilee ...for a little variety.

I love mine... DS is the best watch ever... Not the most beautiful, not the most popular, not the cheapest... LIKE MY EX-WIFE!

JUST MY OPINION.

Although my new SD43 has been getting the Lion's share of wrist time, the 16600 will always get a turn!

Not really one to join clubs, bit my SD 16600 is my favorite watch and one reason is the delicate hands.

I’m not as much a fan of the maxi hands and markers on the newer Rolex iterations.

I was just thinking, out of all my rolex’s, the 16600 is my absolute favorite. I feel it embodies the last of the true Rolex tool watches, it has the old school feel and mystique that is so cool. It’s not my most expensive but it’s my favorite. I wish I would have picked up another one before they increased in price.

Hope some experts here could comment. Im shopping and have seen a tritium dialed 16600 T serial which appears to have gold lume surrounds on the dial. I have read here somewhere that all surrounds are white gold and am struggling to find any images of gold coloured surrounds. Did they ever come with gold coloured surrounds?

It can only be poor lighting on the part of the photographer. Like any polished surfaces, the surrounds will reflect nearby objects including their color cast.

Thank you yes, that is a good point. I saw the watch in person and at the time didn't notice the surrounds only when I saw photo of it later. I can get another hands on with the watch

Original 1999 "A" series (+/-) "Swiss" only dials while unique, are neither common nor rare. And since these were also installed for a time as RSC replacement dials, their "uniqueness" is somewhat tempered by the perceived RSC "parts bin" effect.

Unless its an "A" serial example I avoid them. Otherwise its a non-issue IMHO.
