Do you have to give the office a reason for getting them early? Health Appointment, of course!

Nah - the school is really relaxed about things. I just called the office and said I'd be there at 2!

I now seem like an old fuddy duddy for saying 'no' to the idea of taking the kids out early for icr cream. I retract that now. Go for it!

No worries! This is rather out of character for me, but it's fun to give them a little break sometimes. They are only 6 and 8, and will probably remember this afternoon more so than whatever it is their teacher had planned for that last hour of school!

Caroline, good for you. Children can learn from all the experiences they have in life and not just in school!!!

I take Zoloft for depression and have taken similar meds (selective seratonin reuptake inhibitors) for about 14 years. It keeps me from breaking glassware and murdering my husband.

But other than that, and the occasional Singulair for sinusitis/allergies, that's it. My avatar is something of a misnomer, and I figure it gives me license to post bizarre things without raising too many eyebrows.

Cool you're a loony as I am ().

Seriously...my serotonin deficiency and a lot of my depression was self inflicted as per the coke thread!

Silly boy - it's free today from 12 - 8!! I'm not sure why they are doing this promotion, and there is sure to be a line. But when the teacher tells my two to report to the office at 2, the looks on their faces are sure to be priceless!

I feel for you.

I spent some time on seroxat and I then had a seretonin diet constructed follwing the courses which was supposed to promote seretonin production.

Think copious banana smoothies day in day out.

Ah, so they don't know!? Even better! Plus, if it was my kids, they'd tell everyone and I'd get sideways looks from the teachers.

I'm curious about the diet aspect. Did it help?

The diet was there as a supplement to the medicine.

I suffered way too many relapses for any of it to work effectively.

Eventually I just put a stop to all of it and dealt with the pain and got through it.

Without the help and support of my best friend, I wouldn't have done it.

That's why in the best friends thread I said I owed her my life.
