I feel Miami is still playing catch up with our friends over in Dubai Imagine Dubai were to do dip their toe in a street race. Not inconceivable. As epic a location as the Miami project, just as picturesque and just as glamorous for the uber rich & a fraction of the price for the ‘real’ fans. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well played James
Agreed as in Dubai currency is unlimited and it simply comes down to if it can be acquired (and then modified to Dubai's 'specs'). Kinda like a Bollywood movie set. This is (partially) why my wife and i enjoy watching the comedy TV series Dubai Bling.

Adrian's (relatively) new hobby which he will have more time to enjoy soon.

The Official Formula One Thread!
Ferrari will bring some visible (and some internal) upgrades in hopes to make Imola tifosi happy. The visible aero is fairly well explained in a photo and story in the link.
* I inserted the word IMOLA into the original photo for clarity The enumerated upgrades are explained in the article. https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/t...mola/10610791/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The Italian church bells nearby could use a good workout.

I also see some minor changes in the lower part of the body, around the middle of the 5 and 6. I will be curious to see how much of an advantage this many changes will mean.

The Official Formula One Thread!
Some may recall that May 2024 marks the 30th year after the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. I saw this series of articles and embedded videos that you may appreciate. There is also a long podcast respecting some favorite memories.

Surprised not to see anyone talking about LEC's journey! Hometown gold medal is something to write home about.
I, as I'm sure much of the F1 fanbase, experienced a healthy dose of schadenfraude as it relates to RBR's lackluster performance. Max is a great driver in a great car, but he's no dummy... he fully understands his car's limitations & I think did the best he could given he had no Checo to help him from the rear. The MAG-HUL-PER crash was so unfortunate. With so many license points, MAG seemed determined to right his wrongs & score some points for the team if possible. Instead, he failed to play the long game & ended up ruining two other people's races. I don't see him in the sport after 2025. I think Ollie Bearman will join him in '25, then another wildcard takes his (MAG's) seat. The OCO-GAS crash was hilarious. That team is in such shambles & OCO is such a baby. Whether he is the better driver over GAS (51/49 difference IMO) is irrelevant if half of the team's drivers takes hilariously unnecessary risks. He deserved to be sidelined after his stupidity. Looking forward, I think the HUL-SAI (likely, let's be honest) pairing at Audi will be a genuine contender & the field will begin to equalize after years of RBR's dominance. People forget how it was when HAM was at MBZ winning race-after-race... I think ZHO, SAR & maybe even BOT will be out of the sport before 2026. BOT is marketable, but the only place that I could see him go is Haas, which means MAG is gone at the end of this year. Curious to see who takes the #2 seat at Williams. I'm tired of listening to SAR & watching him fail race after race.

i loved watching the videos of the yachts and parties. Amazing the docking fees and well-oiled logistics. A great weekend for promoting Monaco as a world-class destination. Bravo F1!
i do wonder how much F1 asks Monaco residence in fees for those able to watch the race from their balcony. Vegas is coming soon.

Boring start to the whole season really with RBR...but, the last two races have now intrigued me. Two separate winners not being Max. I go every year to the Canadian F1 GP and this year my 16-year-old son whom I bring said that he did not feel like going. So, I did not buy anything. But, these last two races may put me back on the F1 live viewing group. I may pick up tickets last minute.

Haha, my boy asked me once again....his fire has been reignited. I was in Montreal over the weekend and the F1 fever is in full blast. Poutine is the perfect artery clogger, but holy smokes there is nothing better.

Not sure if more appropriate here or the Car Love thread, but any of y'all at COTA for the McLaren event? Friend is coaching, and sending me pictures/ videos of the MP4/4 going around the track. Pretty annoyed that I've got 2 guys out, and am stuck in my office up the road. Would love to see/ hear that car is person.

I agree - very busy - many passes - much strategy - and reasonable results.
Could be a switch in podium depending upon the RUS investigation that won't start for an hour methinks (podium & media pen delays it). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

This race was amazing! It started with a draw, 1:12:000... wow. A 000 could be fun by itself, but two pilot achieving it is an exceptional thing. By the way, I think it was a huge mistake by MBR not to let RUS overtake HAM earlier at the end, because it seemed to me that he could have caught Norris then. To be honest, I didn't expect such a shame from Ferrari and Perez, I have no idea what they did, but it was a complete disaster. Anyway, at the beginning of the race, it was interesting to watch the Haas, they added a fun factor to the race. If they didn't puncture MAG's wheel change, he probably would have scored a point. Also, it was sad to see Albon, he was completely innocent in that accident. |

Mixed up race for sure and best day Mercedes team has had in a very long time. McLaren "could" of had a 2-3 finish is they had instructed Lando to stay in the DRS for Piastri and give him a tow because he wasn't going to catch Max. As a result, MAC finished 2&5.
Any truth to the rumor that Mattia Binotto was back from gardening leave and on the Ferrari pit wall calling strategy this weekend? |

Apparently there was another spectator group track incursion. The promoter has been called to the Stewards. But I didn't see any of it on the Sky/ESPN feed.

The Official Formula One Thread!
RUS keeps P3: The Stewards determined neither driver was predominantly at fault and took no further action.
TSU, having been late for the National Anthem, earned his team a €10,000 fine. Still waiting to hear about the "invasion". PER case a bit more nuanced... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
