I love coming across YOUR posts too, bud! They always make so much sense. How do you DO that so consistently! :)

All that landscaping stuff was way beyond my expertise, so I just kept my thoughts to myself and watched, hoping I could learn something!

Well, was I in for a surprise this morning. Seems the wife let me handle the doublewide landscaping and, little did I know, she was taking care of some landsccape issues at our main home. I will take some pictures and post. Nothing like a few pcitures of nicely groomed bushes to make an afternoon go by fast. Oh Holy Moly, we don't take that way in the Girls Coffeeshop!

Claire and I had a decent discussion this afternoon.

I told her that if a New ceramic Pepsi came out or a White faced Daytona became available, I would have to seriously think about buying one.

Claire's opinion is we could use the 4 grand (if it was just laying around) to tear down and replace our little timber conservatory, put some nice woodchip borders in around a new patio, put balustrading around our little decked area, replace our knackered concrete driveway with shingle, returf the front lawn and put fencing around the frond garden and drive to ensure William's safety.

When when she puts it that way.....

You lost me at Claire and I had a decent discussion...............this just does not compute in my old redneck mind.

Pictures are down loading in photobucket.

Okay, it went more like this...

"William's asleep, fancy a bit of hanky panky?"

"In yer dreams fatboy!"

"Okay, I'm thinking of buying a new watch if the right one comes up...."

Now that I understand. My thinking is to get the sex issue resolved early in the day so that I know if I need to act good or not. Why waste being nice with no payoff. Hey now, I ain't saying the wife uses sex as a reward. More like a bribe.

Never finished the boundary between our yard and the neighbours. The five trees are new.

I did most of this except for the shurbs at the base. Seems I never got around to planting them. They were taken care of this morning.

This slope by the house has always been a problem. I will do a little more, but they gave me a good headstart.

For some reason the wife kept the helicopter palm and the bush thing is an old hardwood that I will stump grind tomorrow. All the other stuff is new.

Finally the wife has some bushes on the other side of the house. That ain't my fence.

Here is your bush Carolina.

Had the holly bushes taken out.

Another picture of the new (5) trees.

Picture of backyard before cleaning up and mulch and pinestraw.

My HOA tells me I can't put plants on top of the power box. Why do they waste their time with me.

First pond flower of the spring.

Forgot to spray my deet.

Wow, Joe. I love those pictures. Now a question about the yellow groundcover on the slope - is that moneywort - I think also called Creeping Charlie? That's what I picked for groundcover that at the moment is buried under several inches of mud... may have to replant. But if that's the same stuff, I'm glad to see how it looks when mature and healthy.

Your yard is beautiful!

I call it mother load or somethink like that. It is like a juniper that hugs the grown and spreads out. Takes for ever to grow. I like the contrast with the blue junipers. Maybe I should have mixed them more together than having the mother loads at the bottom. Oh well, too late now. What I can't wait for is that Melissa has agreed to remove the concrete front walkway and driveway and replace with pavers. Hopefully that will start in a week or two.

It's so nice that both of you can work on this together. I guess Dave decided long ago his opinion didn't matter anyhow!

Hi Nancy, grateful to be alive and am having a very relaxing day since my better half went down to Chatham to visit with her folks. Went for a 15 mile bike ride early this afternoon and then hung out at the tattoo shop with my friends. Enjoyed my visit to the bookstore afterwards and just got back from eating dinner out. Now I plan to peruse the Forum and chill out!!!

Joe, your landscaping and yard look great and your new trees look like Arborvitae. Your flower down by the pond looks like an Iris? Where your holly shrubs used to be are also called Arborvitae.....

I planted an arborvitae when we lived in Tulsa. Did you know the name means "tree of life?" However, in my hands it became the "tree of death."

Hi hi, still talking plants I see! How's everyone been around here?

I've been pretty busy. My hubby has finished college, and will have his graduation on Saturday! I'm so proud of him!!
Ileana has grown so much! She's still an angel, and I miss her so much on days that I work, it makes me sick!
My body's been bothering me too much lately... I will need to find better pain meds, coz the ones I have now don't work!

Anyways, that's my life in a nutshell...

Congratulations to your husband. Great accomplishment.
Seems to me that with you and Ileana he already has a lot to be proud of.

Joe do you have a 300 or 400 amp service? That looks like a Milbank disconnect-meter combo. 2 Breaker panels in the garage with the Lb's coming in the top meter box?
