I did a thread about trading my 72-01 towards a Le Mans, then turned into trading for a few Rolex. That happened. After a few weeks I realized I really liked having a RM in the collection. I still have most of my Rolexes, I got rid of two to help fund, and got the 65-01. This is a RM I've never had before and I wanted to get one I haven't tried. I've had an 11 series and the 72-01, but the 65 is a big , beautiful beast.
Mechanically speaking it's a split-seconds chronograph, and it's their most complicated. Definitely much bigger than the 72-01. Like wearing a Deepsea Rolex vs a Daytona. Not meant to be a slide under a dress cuff, under the radar piece. So far so good.....love it.

Congrats Richard! Can't wait to see it on various straps. Is this one here to stay or are you thinking of going somewhere in-between sizing like with a 030, 035 or 055?

Congrats Richard! That’s an amazing watch. I tried it on and loved it! Would love one someday! Works with so many strap colors as well.

Thanks B. I have the orange, red, very light blue (almost a chalk color), and black straps already, as I had them from an earlier 011 series I sold. I’ll be putting it on red before going to the F1 race at the end of this month.
I do like the 35 and 55, although I like the date complication as well as the chronograph affiliation, as far as a tie to motorsport.
If I moved to a different size down the road, I definitely wouldn’t rule out a 72 again, a 55, or 35

Wow! Very cool ! Very sharp 75 01 ! Love it. I wear a small leather string bracelet sometimes with my watches, but I'd be scared to wear that one for fear of scratching my watches. Like the vibe of it though, looks good with the watch

How cool, what was he like in person? I hear nothing but rave reviews from owners who have met him.

hes fantastic --very nice and genial. He kinda just shows up at events unannounced nowadays lol

We (me and my brother) spent most of the weekend hanging out with Alexandre -- happy that hes taking a bigger role, hes great too.

my experience

did you get your 67-01? my experience was diff. I bought a 67-02 from grey market and bought the straps from AD. that is how i built my relationship.
i was offered a diamond RM forgot the series, turn down, then 65-01 too big, then 67-01 RG which I got. That's my first RM from the AD

i’ve read that the 6701 and the 7201 are doable for first purchase and also that they’re not doable so its all very mixed online i think… i first told the boutique i was interest back in like december 2024. i asked for either of those two and they were upfront and told me 7201 was not gonna happen but they would try for the 6701. it’s now july and they just told me that my application was finally approved. there’s still a few people in line in front of me but at least now i’m actually in line and they said it should be a few months out.

from what i’ve gathered their process doesn’t allow to have an extremely long waitlist, they have a set number that they can have in line and before you get added to that list they need to submit your profile to corporate and they need to approve it. so yea my suggestion would be to just go talk to them at the boutique and see what they tell you. good luck!
