I'm a black dial fan for VCs, my 4500V being one and the dual time especially with those red accents pop just right.

I have heard stories about the overseas dual time has some technical flaws and it randomly stops/stuck around 11:45-11:50 or so, has anyone experienced it before? thx!

No such issue for me. Been working well since I collected it 2 months ago.

Early production pieces had an issue. It has since been fixed.

Mine had that problem but got it fixed in two weeks. They responded fast.

Hi, does your case number start with 142? I've heard that 143 and later batches fixed the issue in factory before they arrive AD. I like VC's quick response but would rather not having the problem at all.

Exactly, serial # 141** and maybe also 142**

I have 141** and fixed the small problem

Thanks! Gotta watch out for the batches then.
I wonder what if somebody bought an old stock, did not have the problem until the 3rd year when the warranty expired... does that mean he needs to pay a fee to fix the problem?

VC Dual time or Chrono?

I am new to the thread and watch collection. I have a question and hope experts here can guide me. I have an opportunity buy VC Chrono blue or Dual time blue from AD. Leaving aside which one has practical use for me, just from resale value perspective, which model would you recommend. Not that I am planning to sell. New watch price between these models around $4.5k.

Also, is there any discount I should ask AD that I can get. Appreciate the responses.

That is a good headache to have! A year ago, discounts are available. But now, it might be harder to get any. Resales seem to be around MSRP now.

Both watches are also different in dial size, so best to check them out before deciding.

Choose the one you want more...sounds silly but very important.
Then, you can always try but I know that Official Boutique from a lot of Brands (I think Vacheron Constant included) give no more discounts...
I experienced that with Bucherer for my Batman, even if by the past I’ve always get from 15% to 5% discount...since last year, apparently no more...

Keep in mind the chrono is a bigger and thicker watch- it’s awesome and fun, but something to consider. I doubt you can get any discount on either, especially with blue dial. Also know prices are supposedly increasing Oct 1- two VC boutiques told me that. But trust me it’s worth it. In terms of resale, I think both are on the way up— VC cut production and the watches are in high demand with waiting lists. Good luck!

Quick question for those who purchased their overseas from AD. Were you given a hard copy of the instruction manual? I was told that VC stopped giving them out now.

I think US prices are behind the rest of the world at the moment. We had a price increase in May, but playing with the website US prices seem to be quite a bit below EU / ROW

Based on dial design, easily the DT for me. Throw in the thinner case & it's an easier decision for me! In fact, I'm thinking about getting on a wait list for the black DT.

DT on bracelet. Come to appreciate the rubber for comfort, but the integration really is well done here ...
