Some serious standouts in this thread! Don’t want to clog the thread up by quoting and responding to all the beautiful car pics so will just say these are gorgeous collections. Too bad you can’t like posts. Keep the pics coming!

Thanks. I hope your son is well. I was mostly just north of 75 off sumpter and just south of 75 east of sumpter. There was spots to the north we couldn’t even get to with high water vehicles. Sent from my Apple privacy invasion product |

There was a huge surplus of them from the military a few years back and a ton of agencies ended up with them. I've seen them used to deploy response teams to riots, and in dangerous areas.. they're really just a crime deterrent more than anything. Its the most sophisticated personnel carrier ever created. When you need to keep your men and detainees safe, not really a better vehicle you could ask for. |

They asked the police department do you want your APC to be badass or not? It was that or a the Ford Expedition. They chose wisely.

Thank you all for the answers
Now I better understand the topic about what Rolex you intend to wear in a zombie attack, or what kind of exotic car you have! Now I know exactly what car should I pick up or what car should I ask to pick up then |

In 1996 I bought my first (what I considered at the time) nice, sports car. 1987, guards red, black interior, front and rear spoiler, 911 Carrera. I met my wife early 1997, we went on dates, had great memories, etc… in the 911. Then in 1998 we were expecting our first child. So I did what I thought was proper and sold the car to get something more “practical”. Plus, the extra $$ at the time came in handy. I hated selling it, but I remember her saying, “you’ll buy another some day”. Now….I’ve bought many nice sports cars since then, including 911’s , but when I saw this (1988, 1 year difference) exact spec I sold almost 25 yrs ago…well…the rest is history, as they say. I’ve seen some throughout the years, but never one as nice as this. This thing is basically like new mechanically, and aesthetically. Just shy of 52K miles, seats just reupholstered in the same exact leather pattern as stock, and the rest is original and almost flawless. This picture is from 1997 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Ahhh yes. They were actually red. Just like those car-bras from the 80/90’s, they made them for the mirrors as well….still do. I won’t be adding them this time |

WHAT A DAY!! Been contemplating adding a 512TR or a Countach to the garage (no surprise given my preference to 80s/90s nostalgia and the lack of analog emotion modern super/hyper cars provide). The former more likely given the delta in price. Until today, I have never seen a Countach...I am at loss for words. It was basically a spaceship, unlike anything I have ever seen before, jaw straight to the floor. I can't even imagine when this was introduced in the 80s and how it was perceived.
Few interesting misconceptions. The clutch is not heavy at all, no where near as bad as auto journalists make it out to be. It is definitely snug even at a 29 waist but had plenty of head room at 6'1. Zero rear visibility but I am accustomed to this in the diablo, the front and side visibility was great. The pedal box wasn't terrible at all, plenty of room for my feet and it really wasn't that far angled right to be uncomfortable. All the whiney complains from the reviews I have read really weren't true. Was much more comfortable than I had perceived. The bottom half of the window, which is the only part that rolls down, only rolls down a comical 4" (notice first photo, that's how far the window rolls down). Aesthetics are always subjective but no car has ever gotten me this excited including the super cars I have owned. These are the true analog cars that I miss and love dearly, a real drivers car, connected to you and the road, jamming through a 5 speed gated italian and nothing else in the world matters. It was easily the most special car I have ever seen short of a 250 SWB. Was really hoping to not like it as much to save the coin towards a Testerossa/512TR but I might just say $%^& it, sell a few watches and go nuts. What an experience, felt like a kid all over again.
