Every color they offer in rubber straps AND REQUEST ORANGE, plus black leather with red stitching and the pin buckle for the leather strap.

EXACTAMUNDO! Plus my Muse/wife and I decided all silver seconds hand for a 'true Monochrome' visual. I'll need to rent a Leica Monochrom to take some pics when it arrives, color pics are via my Sony rig.

Czapek is fundamentally a company comprised of true watch lovers that want to deliver something unique and wonderful to their customers. I'm glad that so far, they are directing their resources towards making the pieces their customers want, rather than limiting production of the entry line to push customers towards other offerings. I was wearing my Passage de Drake and it was my pleasure to chat with the advisor about this exciting up and coming independent and have him try it on for a bit. Czapek is definitely generating buzz out there.

What did he comment on your passage de drake?
Did he appreciate it for what it is or rather play it down?

Seemed that he really admired it to be honest. That dial needs to be seen in the metal in terms of how it plays with the light, photos don't do it justice. Overall a very laid back and pleasant staff the day I visited. We ended up exchanging some emails about the other Czapek offerings. That boutique is done well, more of a place to hang out and talk watches, with actual timepieces to try on and admire. Unfortunately the bar wasn't open. But it was refreshing to talk with someone who was genuinely into a variety of watches, not just the brand they represent.

(Deep sigh) 'Blame' my dad. In his youth, he was very much into photography and helped out the corner camera/hi-fi shop owner. We're talking 1950s Brooklyn. So I grew up using an M3 and the best lens hand-culled by dad using controlled pics, then enlarged. You know, the ol' how sharp is the image... as reflected in her eyeballs.

Anywho, decades later I did the Hassey 503CW full outfit including meter prism finder (finder was a freebie deal from Hasselblad / B&H). So.... add things from a Kodak DC40(!) to.... Digital is best for my workflow, yet do admire and miss my Hasselblad setup. Still have dad's M3 with Summicron and other lenses. And dad being dad, plus the original meter (long dead so we use the Voigtlander), original case, all original owners manuals....

The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Would love to go analog, yet not sure about yet another 'bag of glass'.... You know, it's the glass.

Did I mention astronomy/tography. There's another bag here of TeleVue Ethoses / Powermate / T-mount....

Great story and a beautiful M3! My dad used to work sporadically near the Leica factory in the 1970s and 1980s, so when I learned to take photos I had a cupboard full of Ms and Rs to choose from. First time I had an M in my hand, it was game over even before I’d processed and printed the film in the “cupboard”. I’ve never used anything else. Talk about spoiled from the start.

Anyway… should return to the topic. Just fitted my adjustable clasp. It is, typically, very very clever.

That’s the fit on mine. Needs a little flex like the other links

It's a little looser than the standard clasp because there's a gap between the mechanism where the links fitted flush before. Perhaps a rejigging of my links is in order, but I'm finding the looser fit quite comfortable at the moment...

You can open both sides independently while it's on your wrist but you need to take the watch off to close it back up.

Thewatchidiot has two C-shaped links after another at 6 o' clock while mongrelmonoad has a C shaped link and then one without at 6 o' clock. There seem to be less tolerances/gaps on mongrels bracelet.
Can you see it, too?

I’m using a 1.33 link (I think - can’t remember the exact size, but it’s the one without the C) as I just couldn’t get it to fit comfortably otherwise on the old clasp. Now that it’s a bit loose, I may try a standard link instead. Regarding the gaps - I think it’s a case of camera angle.

I’ve worn mine almost every day for over a year.

I also use that non c link but it’s not at the clasp but up one link from the clasp. You can see it in post 677

I had my bracelet brushed by Czapek. It changes the look to be more muted than with polished center links. I miss the bling of polished but prefer this industrial (?) look more.
What do you folks think of this brushed look? Like it or dislike it is personal preference, so be honest, I know one look is Never right for everyone!

Brushed looks great and agree with you. I also can see keeping polished center... or 'both' bracelets... and four rubber straps....

Umm, think you're asking the 'wrong guy', my answer is always yes when it comes to 'additional' bracelets and bands.

Amazing how much the brushed bracelet changes the look. I like it and think it looks nice, but personally opted for the polished C links myself.

I am biased since I am right now corresponding with Czapek ordering my 38.5mm. And just yesterday I learned that it is possible for them to „sell” a fully-brushed bracelet. Which I much more prefare.

Firstly - I am not a bling-bling kind of guy. Just a personal preference, as you mentioned.

Secondly - I have always opted for brushed bracelets in sports watches. And Antarctique is one of these.

Having said that now my headache is which dial to choose - ice blue or the salmon. Ice blue looks so nice. But salmon is so provocative, fresh and non-standard.

I like the brushed Cs but opted for them polished with no regrets. It’s not an ostentatious watch at all (especially with my lamé grey dial) and they just give it that little extra.

This was precisely my idea as well - this yellow/salmon should go great with grey.
