I truly believe Allen deserved it but Lamar also deserved the healthy amount of votes he got.

I’m hoping saquon gets Super Bowl MVP. Fingers crossed.

The thing about the Eagles is that they preserved him all year. They sat him on the bench for entire quarters during games all year. They wanted him fresh for the playoff run and once they got in the playoffs, they still limited him to a degree.

Now it’s balls to the wall…they’re going run him all game. He’ll get some rest, but he’s going to feast…And that’s going to open up the passing game for Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Devonte Smith, and Dallas Goedert.

345 rushing attempts in regular season is preserving him?

Yes. 17 game season now. That only averages out to 20 carries a game. Elite RBs used to average much more carries a game than that. Barkley was not an every-down back this season.

They sat him a lot. Mostly during 3rd QTRs. A lot of 4th QTRs, and one entire game.

The number of games doesn't really matter. It's still a high number of carries within the same time period. You can go back 20 years and it's still amongst the high end of carries in a season.

For guys that put up big numbers (e.g., 1,500+ yards), only twenty carries a game is pretty good. Possibly exceptional.

I’m not going to do research but I’m sure Emmitt Smith, OJ Simpson, Eric Dickerson carried the ball a lot more when they were putting up big numbers.

Also, I’m pretty sure La’Veon Bell carried the ball around 30 times a game.

out of curiosity i asked chatgpt for like 25 1700+ yard seasons, so yeah Saquon is actually relatively low compared to everyone on the list but 21.6 is still not a small number, he was just super efficient since the eagles are stacked all around. Henry was literally the entire titans offense in 2020 and had only 2 more carries per game

for what it's worth even though he had that many attempts it didn't seem like he was abusing his body. in comparison i just think of CMC last year who only had like 1400 yards on 17 carries a game while looking like he was literally breaking his entire body in the process

Yes, I guess my point was that they’ll run him all game tomorrow. It won’t be like the regular season when he sat on the sidelines and watched for periods of time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s 30+ carries. But it depends how the game plays out.

Plus, KC is not great against the run. They’re not any better than the Commanders or Packers. But KC blitzes a lot and that could frustrate Hurts a lot. So that’s another reason to run Barkley a lot.

The Eagles offensive line is one of the tallest and heaviest in NFL history. You can bet using them to wear down the Chiefs is a big part of the game plan. But I still think Reid turns the pages of the playbook to the "Not run yet this season" tab and gets the Eagles in mismatches when they have the ball.

On paper, the Eagles. But I just can't see KC losing this game.

Big deal for Packers fans, like me. Packers have 3-peated NFL championships twice, '29-'31 and "65-'67. But never 3 SB in a row. Hope the Chiefs can do it.

GB will still be the only team to have won 5 NFL championships in 7 seasons. (Until KC wins yet again to end the 2025 season).

KC has been run all over by lesser backs and lesser O lines the last couple games. Go birds.

If Saquon goes off and the Eagles win the SB, sitting him the final game and not getting the rushing record will be a forgotten memory. Is it going to be ground and pound all day for the Eagles and keep Mahomes off the field? Will Reid unleash all the trickery and misdirection plays he's schemed all season? Will it come down to the last drive with the ball in Mahomes hands?

Is “your friend” code for 300 million Americans

I don’t think it’s rigged but do think you need to be up two scores against the chiefs. They get lots of calls time and time again in critical moments on top of being good.

Good defensive stand by the eagles to hold.

They sure did. This crew is known for throwing flags so I suspect it’s far from over.

Refs definitely calling it the Chiefs way, but it doesn’t matter as they are imploding. Credit to the Chiefs defense bottling up Saquon. Time of possession is 2 to 1. That’s huge.

Birds defense is beating the chefs like they owe child support. All I was talking about before the draft was that the bills should take cooper dejean and here he is making plays in the Super Bowl. I was mostly joking because you just don’t see white guys playing corner lol but the guy plays hard.

Eagles Offensive Line doesn’t look healthy. Dickerson and Becton are limping all over the place after every play. That can’t possibly help the running game.

Honestly, I’m not surprised the Eagles are up 24-0, but I expected it to be Barkley carving them up.

Eagles need to keep up the pressure.

Need some Tylenol after that halftime show. I’d heard of the name Kendrick Lamar, but wasn’t familiar with his music. Maybe it’s just me…

On to the 2nd half. Chiefs receive.

The incredible fact is he has 22 Grammys. He doesn’t even have 22 hit songs. Grammys are a joke.

Glad me Birds are kicking butt, but wish it were a more competitive game.
