Oh goodness - the littlest one just lost her first tooth! It was halfway out, and she was so worked up that she wanted to go home. I called her parents, and by the time I got back upstairs, it had come out and she wanted to stay.

Called parents back, told them not to come, and now kids need to go to sleep!

Of course, hubby is sleeping through the whole thing!

Of course.

Caroline, I hope you can get a little shuteye tonight yourself. Are these the friends who rotate sleepovers so the parents can have "date night?"

Lisa and gang....

Susan Boyle final performance:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2xiAQCTy2E

These are the guys who beat her.

I think negative tabloid press lost it for her but I'm sure she will do very very well.

I agree, the news this morning reckons she will earn 6 to 8 million quid this year, must admit I thought that diversity were brilliant, but for being nice people, the father and son Greek dancers just made me smile and took my "Happy meter" up a couple of notches.

We voted twice for The father and son...that guy is a comedy genius and his son will follow in his footsteps.

We were gonna vote for them and Boyle but thought she would still walk it, so rang through twice for Stav'.

It's naff tv but it has had us (and probably the whole country) hooked!

Well, you know we moms have that special radar...

No, we haven't had the "date night" kids over in a while. I'm still great friends with the mom, but the two girls are sooooooo whiny, won't eat anything, and generally make a sleepover not so much fun. We just stick to general playdates with them, now.

Last night really was great, other than the cute tooth fiasco. It's a nice thing when you are friends with a couple, and the kids get along wonderfully. I think a lot of it has to do with similar parenting styles/rules. At least it has in our case. The whiny kids we used to watch had not too many rules, were allowed to eat junk at will, or were just completely catered to at times. So, trips to my house without their mom - not so much fun for them!

I watched them both, Jim - being two very different kinds of performances, how on earth could anyone decide!??

I just love Simon - no matter what anyone says about him he really does have a good heart.

Anyways, I bet Susan Boyle has her future secured and she will have all the success she wants.

Thanks for posting those, Jim!

I'm such a schmuck - if the kids act whiny/picky/a drag to be around, it kind of spills over to the mom for me!

And you're right - when all the kiddos and parents get along well, it's pretty wonderful! My buddy in San Antonio and I are like that - looking forward to spending some time with her and her kids in June when we're there.

Max's baseball team played two back to back games for the league championship (whew, a long, hot day) and they won! The best part? My little guy got two hits and brought in two runs during the first game.
And, the coach awarded Max the game ball for that game!!

I'm so proud of him - he's come so far this season!

We are going to get all Max's teammates to sign it at our pizza party. Then, hubby has claimed it for his office. At any rate, it will make a nice keepsake for the years to come!

He'll get many more game balls in his little league career.

Well, they would looked just fine earlier in the season during his batting slump - gosh, 20 strikeouts at bat or something?!

No kidding. Our summer vacation started last week and we can't seem to get out of bed before 9am! Then again, I've been staying up too late, too.
