"The dip that keeps on dipping..."

All long right now so no options to lose, thankfully. Just watching as I'm fully invested at the moment. Just continuing to think long-term and happy that I'm in best of breed companies and not SPACs or other more speculative stocks.

the thursday dip worried me to the point of not adding at all but i bought some of the dip today. got into square due to their latest news and paypal because i think they're really forward thinking right now and working hard to get into the crypto space (just put in a bid to buy a custodian startup)

hoping we rebound from this bouncing back and forth due to treasuries soon

Yes, in SQ for the long haul as well. Long-term, we'll be fine...but of course seeing the red non-stop over the last few weeks has been

I bought KMPH premarket today as the company announced approval of a new ADHD Rx. I was anticipating the stock to move up more than it has today based on the FDA approval announcement. Does anyone have any insight into whether they feel this stock has legs to move higher or not? I don't mind holding but not sure if there is the potential for any further stock price rise. Perhaps this is a case of buy the rumor and sell the news. Thanks.

This market is really testing my resolve. Beginning to think I may need to be trimming my exposure rather than adding to.

My genomics plays (NVTA, PACB, EDIT) are getting absolutely crushed along with about every tech position I’m in.

Good luck to all out there.

Ahh just keep buying they’ve been testing us since March. Nothings changed and I think tech will prevail in the end.

Can someone help set the market back to beginner mode? I’ve been overall in the red since last week. :(

Sitting tight for the rest of the day, but quite a few names are getting attractive. May be buying tomorrow (looking at you TTD).

I’m still sitting in a decent spot but the last 21 days have been a little rough to watch.

Definitely doing this. I panic sold last March but not doing that again. Lesson learned the hard way, and 7sins post about not timing the market helps reinforce it.

Everybody wants a pull back to "buy more" ... until there's actually a pullback. If you're holding quality names, this will be a nice opportunity to add to any said positions on big dips. Nibble in small bites on the way down. This correction was long overdue IMHO.

I agree it was overdue, and agree about adding. I’ve been doing so on the way down. But it still is painful to watch.

This is exactly why I have suggested for months, you should always be buying LEAP PUTS when market is at all time highs on expensive stocks. They will act as a profitable safety net during an inevitable pullback, you then take those put profits during a pull back and rotate them into long buys on other stocks now at a discount. Some good buying opportunities this week, will continue to add each leg down. Began small position in SOXL today and will continue to build as it comes down, this is the 3x leverage semiconductor ETF which we know there will be a multi-year run on this, down 20% off the weekly high and IV has compressed 20% this week alone - aggressive play here but LEAPS I think will be a home run. COTY and SABR trades looked great today, both right at YTD highs, SABR still my highest conviction recovery trade that trades well below pre-covid levels along with COTY, good to see FDX flat.

Big day for oil tomorrow for OPEC meeting to discuss reversing last year price cuts, lets see what they do with production. If they increase production, which I suspect they will based on Russia's low breakeven point for their budget and multiple mentions of them wanting to increase production. This could shake out the recent run up and will add to my rds-b, bp and ERX positions, really hoping to get ERX sub $20 and then ride the rally of oil into year end with 2x leverage.

Here is another great chart for those who are underwater this week in addition to the last one I posted a few page back about staying invested and the substantial loss if you miss the best 5 days of the market each year. I've used this one many times, it shows the intrayear declines for the sp500 and then what the actual performance was for the year. Notice every single year there was an intrayear decline, many declines more than 10% while the year end return was positive. At the very least, the intrayear decline was significantly lower than the year end performance, buying down those dips would have been proven to bode well each year relatively speaking. Another great reminder that these troughs and dips are very normal, have conviction in your plan and STICK to it, add to your highest conviction positions which will Dollar Cost Average your cost basis DOWN.

All you can do is laugh at this point and stop staring at the market.

Wake me up in a couple years and tell me if these value stocks that people are rotating into will be worth more than the technology stocks that continue to grow and aren't going anywhere...

The world is built on technology; embrace the relatively discounted prices.

I've also been highly distracted with a newborn, so there's that too. Easy to forget about it.
