Likely another 5% decline in Nasdaq (on average over last 10 years or so, median is around 1-2%) over the next 20-30 days. I’ll be interested to see if the Russell continues to correct or if we’re near the bottom there.

March also typically starts with a nice jump just to fade away. So nothing to get too afraid of here...

I am betting on GME to offset my other losses. There is some strange stuff going on with the market, and GME being shorted like it is, could crash the market when shorts cover.

A limit down or big morning decline with a recovery (regardless of closing up/down) would be a nice bottoming sign.

I am sorry but I do not understand any of this.

Last earnings report did not impress, and it was more speculative for me, as I don't generally invest in IPOs so early. Returned nearly 50% and got out at first sign of weakness after that report.

I do like the company and think they have a future ahead of them. Today's pricepoint doesn't look terrible, but the lockup period ends on 3/17 so there could be more pain ahead.

I'd like to see what next earnings brings before I personally jump in.

Went on a SPCE ride from when it was 7, quit at 54. Seeing Chamath make an exit at 34, I’m feeling slightly better about taking some minor dings on IPOE and CLOV.

Wondering if Brian and 7sins have any opinions on the rise in rates and whether the impact to some bellwether tech has been a bit overdone here, or if it’s just the beginning.

Appreciate any insights guys. Trying to keep a long term perspective in mind but this has been a gut wrenching three weeks for me, and many of us here for sure.

For those still on the $TAK train, this is great news below and should bode well come May if it goes through. Good buy in the 17s and options are inexpensive here, I am still underwater but adding into Summer.

Takeda Seeks Approval For Moderna's COVID-19 Shot In Japan: Benzinga
Takeda Pharmaceutical Co Ltd has asked regulators to approve the use of Moderna Inc’s COVID-19 vaccine (mRNA-1273 or TAK-919).
Takeda filed the New Drug Application to import and distribute the shot. It has earlier said approval could be given in May.

The rise in rates was over due and made the shock worse. The unemployment rate was known ahead of time with the re-opening trade waning and the vaccine effort increasing.

The tech trade has been stretched for the last 6 months. I have been rotating out of tech into value, energy and growth for the last three months. I posted some things that got lost in the thread.

The ARKK noise, the Reddit bubbles, the posts in this thread about making money quickly since yesterday . . . those are all huge tells about where we are today.

If you are keeping a long term persepective, then evaluate your positions and decide where to trim or add. I have been buying today and I am looking to reinvest the cash I have been raising for just this opportunity.

Just my view at this time

So far today I have sold AMD and added COST and added to my position in CCI.

I am still long tech names with low cost basis but I am not adding anything as I believe there is further downside in that very over bought sector

As a young investor who has seen his portfolio pretty much reset by the COVID pandemic (started investing around 3 years ago) i was wondering if anyone would like to shed some light on overall portfolio makeup?

The reason i ask is most of the conversation here seems to revolve around shares/stock individually whereas i am wondering if you all also hold funds focussed elsewhere in the world? Or even sectors as a whole?

For someone with a 20 - 25 year horizon what kind of makeup between equities and funds would you recommend?

My current portfolio makeup looks something like:
Funds: (40% of total portfolio)
FTSE100 Tracker
Global International Index Tracker
India Focussed Fund
Global Small Caps
European Index Tracker
Global Robotics and Automation Tracker (

Equities: (60% of total portfolio)
Consumer Staples
Financial Sector (Bank)
Utilities (Water)
Mining

I've kept the above as short and hopefully clear as possible. Goal is simply to accumulate as much as possible within the ISA (UK's version of a 401K i believe)

Thank you in advance to anyone that spends anytime responding to this.

Today I am adding AFRM to my long term portfolio. The stock as gone down tremendously the past few days, due partly to a general market correction, as everything is down, but in AFRM case also due to an early lock-up release. I never advise anyone on financial matter, so take it as an idea.... but I thought I would bring it up, this is a good chance to get-in at what I consider a huge discount price for a company that I feel has a very solid product. Don't expect anything amazing for the next year, Paypal took a year and half before it started surging.... But right now AFRM is under their first day IPO public offering price.

AFRM taking a big plunge today....

It has crossed my mind, but I'm not so sure we're out of the woods yet.

These violent swings back and forth don't fill me with confidence and I'd rather add to long positions than risk saying "this is the bottom" and watch us swing down again.

Let's be honest, how many of us have said "this is it" the last couple of days, only to wake up the next day to see more (sometimes double-digit) pain? This could be another dead cat bounce, and a lot of these charts are shot (I'm no chart expert, but just saying).

Not saying don't do it - just saying I'm not personally there yet.

I’ve said this is it for the last 3 days and I’m very down because I keep trying to average down. I rather just wait and see at this point.

There’s been so many dead cat bounces in past week that at this point I’m expecting the current rally to turn south fast and end the day lower than earlier on!

To me it seemed like a very strong bounce off the 25 period MA (12,450) when looking at the NASDAQ weekly chart, representing a 12-13% haircut off all time highs. Thus, I did some buying. Added GEVO shares, and couldn’t resist adding NET Jan 2022 calls. I have some cash still if needed, but I think we turn the corner next week.
