The Coonawarra in the Limestone Coast area of South Australia is the premier wine growing area in Australia for Cabernet Sauvignon.
I can't get enough of these fabulous wines grown in the terra rossa soil of the area.
This is the 2011, bought to see whether I will buy a case to cellar a bit longer. It is a lovely wine and if it drinks any better than this it is a real bonus. Great value for about A$16.

Palacio del Burgo 2010 Rioja Reserva ~ WP 93 pts

Might be worth a Try!

Beautiful, elegant and classic. This wine has a purity of place and honesty of expression that is sadly difficult to find. Well worth a try to see how Tempranillo can truly shine.

85% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha & 5% Carignan.

Wine Spectator -

"Plum, blood orange, black olive, toast and mineral notes mingle in this tight, bright red. Juicy acidity keeps this lively, while firm tannins impart focus. Graceful, with good intensity. Drink now through 2025. Tasted twice, with consistent notes."
93 Points Wine Spectator

ON Sale for $19.99 a bottle!

That's a GREAT bottle my friend. I got ahold of some late last year through a good friend --- opened one and it was good even now --- cellared the rest to marinate. Hahahaha

So not really a lot of drinking the last two months given my health issues but celebrating my sister in law's birthday tonight we opened a nice current release and a vintage offering that was befitting a sibling of my beloved's lineage.

Hi G8R, here is the Souffle recipie.
If you've never done Souffle before it does take a bit of concentration when 'building' the butter/flour/cheese/egg 'sauce', but it isn't as difficult as some make out, and I've never used a 'double-boiler' for the sauce. If the consistency when cooked is a bit 'moist-pudding-like' then oven temp/time needs to be increased slightly.

I've been drinking Merryvale for a long time and it's a great wine for just to have some Cabernet with back yard burgers or blackened fish.

Also Whitehall Lane Reserve Cab is right there with it. Whitehall Lane is also the first wine in the world to use a glass cork I believe, here's a pic

Stags Leap is a fave. A podiatrist(DPM in my username)was their winemaker for a while. Nikki Pruss DPM. Have been trying to find a mutual friend for a while. Maybe you or Trace can be a link. She is not there anymore!
