No, not yet. I have a recipe box from my paternal grandmother & half of the recipes are in Danish, written in pencil in cursive. It's been a project trying to transcribe, then translate the contents of this box.

Wow...that's uh, some challenge there...but would be pretty interesting to get that translated. Any Danes in your community..?? Fortunately for me, my wife is Danish..I'm an 'adopted' Dane...

Just a quick 4.5hr drive to the Danish community of Solvang: https://maps.app.goo.gl/b5N7sGR9VPDAUU6p7

Maybe someone at that restaurant could translate it providing they've got enough akvavit & good enough bifocals.

Been to Solvang.. great town. Yeah, the akvavit is a must for proper vision and translations..lol...!!
I'm trying to recall if we know anyone in Solvang. We have connections in the PNW DK communities.. I could check with my wife...!

Hanging out at a vineyard in southern Colorado celebrating that our house is under contract for well over asking price in one day!

Thanks. We’re moving to the western part of the state. It’s the peach and wine country part of the state with lots of ranches too.

Thanks. We’ll post more once we get out there, but the land is considered “ag” and once we grow some things and incorporate them into our soaps, we can open us a storefront for our small retirement business on site on the weekends during tourist season.

Sounds like a new page in the adventure, Roger.

I don't have a steak to show seared yet...but the airdry started an hour ago...so a few days to wait...

I don't do the full-on primal dry aging - just Prime pre-cut 1.5# ribeyes. 2-salted, 3-peppered, garlicked, onioned, and rosemary.

More to come...

Sweet! We’re in our small RV so we can’t mimic what we do at home but it turned out pretty good IMHO. Especially with that thick of a steak on a Weber Q1200 and no temperature probe. Plus the winery is owned by an ex special forces guy and he’s making nice wines with Colorado grown grapes.

Thanks Phillip. It’s been a wild ride so far. We signed a contract on our new house before we even had our house listed which gave me pause. Then we needed a few weeks to list our place because we needed to get the hardwood floors refinished first (25 years of wear and tear with dogs). Then to get two over asking price offers on day 1, that was shocking to say the least with the current interest rates. Now we just need to get through the home inspection process.

Life is an adventure full of unexpected surprises, if it wasn’t, life would be boring. Thankfully, your recent surprises are all of the positive nature. Please post up some pictures of the new ranch once you get settled in.

We’re eating our way through the freezer and fridge before we move. I had some leftover baby back ribs vacuum sealed in the freezer, so those went tonight. Also have some leftover pulled pork out there, so that’ll be Monday’s dinner.
