Leo: the can am 'spyder' has two in the back and one in the front, and it's a trip, no?
it's much more stable than a motorcycle and high tech. my friend's having a ball crossing and re-crossing the USA...first on rte 50 and then back on rte. 66. mythic. cool, in my book. however, in York, Pa. we are the final assembly for all Harley's, and the Harley museum is here. so, praise for that trike could be seen as High Treason in this neigborhood.

Actually York is the final assembly plant for Softail and Touring models. Sportster, Dyna and V-Rod models are assembled in Kansas City, MO

We are building William a mini Britsih Army Outpost and sitting it in the corner on the deck.

My niece is now too old for her timber Wendy house and my brother was going to scrap it.

Old hoarder here had a quick measure and quickly drew something up on Cad...it's going to have a raised lookout section coming from the roof and a couple of other enhancements....then I'm going to stain it in camoflage colours and cover it in camo nets etc.

It was going to go on stilts with an escape hatch and chute/silde but Claire has put the kibosh on that...bah!

I will keep you all updated as to when it starts and how it's going!

(It's for William but it will also be my retreat for cigars and frozen margheritas!!!!!)
Give me a shout if you need some cam nets Jim.

Mornin' Bill! How was your Friday night! Ours was busy. Our original plan was to go out for dinner. Instead, we laid sod, transplanted shrubs and spread mulch. (I'm just telling this part to make Jim jealous). Then we sat on the front porch with drinks and shared our aches and pains. Had leftovers for dinner.

This morning we're heading to the club around 8:00 a.m. or so. We're supposed to be doing Race Committee for an Able Sail (these are actually disabled sailors) Regatta. Things are not looking good. The weather calls for thunderstorms all morning and rain basically all day.

Heading up to get ready and make lunches anyway. Life is always full of surprises! Have a great day, bud!

Morning Nancy,
Rain forcasted for this afternoon here too.
All Star baseball practice at 10:00 then back home to finish pool and pond. If I have the energy maybe I'll sort through all the junk in the cellar and start throwing out.

Gardening update batfans.

First coat of stain is on deck. Those applicator broom/pads you get are crap! Absolute waste of money and worse a waste of stain. Bloody thing wouldn't stain in deck board grooves so that thing went in the trash!!!!

Trusty paintbrush and hands and knees...took a few hours but looking much nicer. Needs another coat tomorrow and then sealing and waxing!!!!!

I'll try and post a before and after pic next week.

Also pressure washed my patio and pathways and spray cleaned a teak garden bench...tomorrow I'll put the teak restorer on it then probably stain it on Mon/Tues evening.

I now am officially paraplegic until tomorrow 9am....no muscle in my body works anymore...everything aches.

I am typing this with my tongue...you don't want to know how I'm moving my mouse!

Mornin' Bill. It rained pretty much the whole day we were out on the water. I forgot to take my camera with me.... Today is day two and the weather is looking a bit more promising. Camera ready to go!

I have one more week to work and then I'm on vacation. My FIRST priority is to get rid of the junk in the cellar. I'm seriously sick of tripping over stuff when I'm looking for things! Here's hoping YOUR cleanup will motivate me!!

I posted it elsewhere, but once again, Happy Father's Day buddy!

If there's an empty chair in the aches and pains row, allow me to sit there! After our gardening adventures Friday night, I could barely walk. Got hit with a major arthritis flareup in the ankle with the steel bar and screws. Could barely walk yesterday. We were doing volunteer work with disabled sailors. It was almost impossible to tell whether I was a competitor or a volunteer.

Ibuprofen rules!

Thanks.
Well I hate to let you down but I DID NOT work on my cellar this weekend after all.
I did however work on my fish pond (behind the fence). My yard is very small and there simply isnt much room so it's crammed in where it fits.

"The pond" consists of two small holes (approx. the size of bathtubs) about 20 feet apart with a rocky stream between them. The pump in the bottom pond pumps the water up to the waterfall where it fills the top pond and spills over into the stream which flows down and fills the bottom pond again.
It was full of leaves and it takes all day to dredge, pump, clean and suck all the sticks and leaves from the rocks in the stream. I do it every year because there are trees behind the shed/screenhouse that would be very expensive to remove. I use a steel rake to dredge it out and a submersible pump to remove the water, then a shop vac to suck out the sludge at the bottom. Fill it up with fresh water, add goldfish fish and you're done. I'll tell you what, when sitting alone in the screen house, listening to the waterfall, there's nothing more relaxing. And that's what it's about right?
I sure am glad it's done.
So that's how I spent my Father's day.
Here's how my son spent his:

(See the tiny fish shown near the bottom of the tree)
He had more fun than I did today, but I enjoyed his fun just as much. Funny how that works for parents huh?

Bill.....it looks like it was WAY too nice a day to be cleaning inside anyway! Sounds like a lot of work but the end result is obviously well worth it. Your son always looks so happy. What great memories you are building for him!

My day went well also. Got a bit of a sunburn on my face. I never ever remember the sunscreen! Lots of fun though. Came home and BBQd some steaks and now I'm thinking about how early 5:00 is going come tomorrow so I think it's going to be an early night.

Sorry been gone for a couple of days down to visit the in-laws. Dan, my sisters-in-laws trike I believe was made at a harley dealership and bought at another dealership used so no treason was involved!!!

Hello, coffeeshop gang! I missed all of you last week. It's been good to catch up on everyone's goings-on. Sounds like lots of good projects, home improvements and family/friend togetherness going on.

Hope you'll humor me with a couple of pics from our trip to San Antonio (Texas)... staying on the Riverwalk was really nice, but we got out around town and visited friends some, too. It was truly a relaxing, pleasant week.

The kiddos and Dave walking under one of the bridges near the Rivercenter Mall (I think...)

Violet loved the hotel pool. We were there every evening. She turned 2 just yesterday.

The gang once again.

Getting ready for the riverwalk boat tour. June turned 6 while we were there and we promised her a boat ride for her birthday.

Dave, pondering. Probably about whether he should play hooky during the next day's seminars! He's wearing his SD.

Yep yep, she's over 8 months old already! She's crawling all over the place, and fell out of our bed last week!! Big bump on her forehead, but she was fine! Big scare for me though!
