Morning Nancy,
The day went smoothly enough, though at around 3:00 I started thinking about the cat nap I had just started getting used to while on vacation. Np work tomorrow so it's a really short week for me. That's good because it's getting hard to adjust to cubicle life after being free for a week.
I hope you enjoy your day.

Mornin' Leo. We need to find a couple of chairs for our front porch. We sit outside every day during the summer and the current white plastic chairs are kinda hurtin' after 9 years of use! The kids gave us a gift certificate for Home Depot so we're going to see if we can find something there. Will probably head down to the club tonight and hang out while Al is racing. Other than that.....laundry........endless laundry. I got SO behind not being able to spend much time on my feet this past week. How about you?

I'm planning on bicycling this morning and if the weather holds going out again this afternoon. Yesterday was simply a wash and couldn't get out. As of Tuesday, I have accumulated over 1100 miles for the season so far. Also planning on visiting a garden center to pick up more perennials for the gardens. There is a newer type of bleeding hearts called "King of Hearts" which has blue green fern like foliage and flowers persist thru summer!!!

Oh!! The bleeding hearts sound fascinating! We have a nice clump of bleeding hearts in our flower island. It mysteriously appeared last year as a small plant, and this year it had just about quadrupled in size. Al loves them! I might have to look around for the King of Hearts one. Full summer blooming would be awesome!

Yeah, but it would be fun to go and look. You never know what you may find and then can make room for. We need to pick up some Liquid Fence(for the deer)and a few more perennials to finish this years plantings!!!

I always meant to show you a picture of her. I really liked that avatar.
Nothing special for today. Cleaning for cookout tomorrow, baseball practice at 3:00.
Looking forward to the cookout. Lots of people, kids swimming in the pool. I like a full house.

My lawn would have been grateful.

I don't know, you try and sow a new lawn in June.

When's it gonna rain?

Wimbledon fortnight...that will be perfect!

Al had to regrade a portion of the lawn after our new porch steps and sidewalk were poured. Then he had to put new sod and seed along the sidewalk where the forming had been for the concrete pour. We had so much rain that the seed germinated and the grass filled in so much in 4-5 days that we can barely tell where he added the new stuff!

It's tempting, but the bank balance is really low so I don't think I'm gonna tempt fate!

For what it's worth, we're into our 3rd year of reseeding out back yard and we're still faced with yet another layer of topsoil and seed in areas that are still patchy. It's almost total shade back there, and we really struggle to keep the lawn looking good.
