We have one(Millie) that is 16 months old now and she is a delight in every sense. She's near the bottom end of the size and weight range for the breed and she does the "Chill position" to prefection which we learnt at Puppy Pre school as one of a number of her party tricks

Just saw this now - sorry!

She’s a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (we call them “staffies” in the UK). She’s just adorable. She’s 14 weeks now and learning fast, going to puppy school and making lots of doggy friends! She’ll grow up to be no taller than 14 inches to the shoulder. Short legs :)

I love the sound of Millie. She sounds like a really good girl!!!

Heartbroken for your loss. We lost Betty last year and this forum has been amazing.

I can see how loved Mochi was. You gave him a wonderful life and vice versa!

Well, I was holding little Dolly yesterday in my arms in the kitchen, and was wearing socks around the house. She, in a split second, flew off my arms wanting to go to the floor. Mind you, she’s 3 months old.

Without hesitating, I dived to hold her - and glad to say I managed to get her and hold her - whilst I’m myself falling face forward towards the hard kitchen floor due to my socks… and doggy acrobatics jump angle!

So, net result, she’s perfectly fine, but you have a bruised dog dad, with a very painful shoulder - now travelling transatlantic and unable to easily hold/carry/store my luggage! Feeling sorry for myself but very happy my baby girl is safe!

Ps - no real watches injured in the process - thank goodness for moonSwatches!

Well...it's pretty apparent that Molly is all good but poor dad is a bit battered. She's looking unphased....
Good luck on your trip!

I love the sound of Millie. She sounds like a really good girl!!!

Actually Millie is our abbreviated version of Camilla. We named her after a lovely elderly Italian lady who lived down the road who we miss very much since her passing.
So it's usually Millie or Millie girl, but Camilla when she's being roused on a bit. She knows full well the difference and responds accordingly but virtually runs the house.
They're a really great breed and we call them Staffies here in OZ as well
But with the Americans becoming more popular here along side the the ever popular English Staffies, our girl is commonly referred to as an Amstaff but I usually abbreviate it to either an English or American when my wife and I are seeing them out and about, admiring them and meeting and greeting.
Our trainer at puppy pre school had a real soft spot for the Americans and didn't hide it one bit.
Millie was the Hostess with the Mostess out of the group and made friends all round. Even with the pup in the class that we best described as being a bit on the spectrum as the poor little mite couldn't read the room and had a hard time socialising. Our girl sort of took him under her wing a bit with lots of licky kisses and it helped him to interact a bit better according to his parents

We were passing by the local vet the other day on a walk and we went in to put our latest addition to the family on the scales just inside the door.
Our young lady is a tad over 20kgs and fully grown by now. That makes them easy enough to handle as any bigger and any cuddles are just a little difficult. Lol.

From your picks it looked like Dolly did have longer legs and it threw me a little as her eyes a big, beautiful and round and set a little wider apart than normal so I thought she was American
Either way, she's going to be a real heart breaker and definately a Super Snuggler judging by the latest pics

Loved reading the genesis of Millie’s name! I wish I had an equally beautiful naming story for Dolly. As I love Japan I was going to name here Konnichiwa which is cute, but would make me silly in the park :) So we kept the name her breeder bestowed her. And now I love it!

I was very skeptical about a staffie - my partner was the one who pushed me. Our last dog I chose, so it was only fair he had a go this time! And I’m glad he did!

I guess Dolly’s legs are short really - maybe it’s the angle - she won’t be taller than 13in to the shoulder, the little short-arse!

Millie surely sounds like a great hostess and a lovely girl!! Would have paid good money to see the dynamics with the pup on the spectrum (loved the definition by the way)!

Dolly is up there with the best along with Molly.
Our girl's name from the breeder was "Sweet Pea".
The litter was the first they had and it was a young loving family with 3 early school age children with the youngest being girls, so from interacting with the family i imagine the names chosen for the 8 pups in the litter were heavily influenced by the female contingent of the family
Anyway, two words was too much so we had to change it to something that wasn't too common, so "Camilla" it was.
She also comes to Cammy which was the very first variation on her official name.
As with all these things like nick names, they tend to settle on something else that's not so official and or completely different, but somehow more fitting to them as individuals as their personalities unfold and how they fit into the family.
As long as they come straight away when they are called
Kind regards to your family and best wishes for many joyful 4 legged years together.

Hoping for the Mooney VR46 team to be penalized in qualifying. She’s an HRC fan.

Hopefully the kitty will win Leo over. At one point we had 2 dogs and 2 cats, and the dogs wanted to be friends with the cats, but the cats just tolerated the dogs. We have a friend in WA that is fostering 4 little premie kitties and has two golden retrievers. The kitties are sleeping on the dogs - so cute.
