Many times the difference between failure and success is doing something nearly right or doing it exactly right.

Here is one a member of my team sent me a year ago and I have used it ever since

“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.”

I didn't understand this when I was a soldier, but it was taught to me when I was in business.

A lot of clever sayings are just that-- cute turns of phrase but not actually correct. Being witty or clever has it's own value doesn't make what's being said more correct.

I used to think that when we reach 60 years of age that we're living on borrowed time. If there is something important to you that you're postponing till retirement, or you till get the time, money, etc., you need to hurry when you hit 60. Then I saw my father die on the first day of his early retirement at 61, so I adjusted the target age to 50.

Make some time to do the things you think you've working hard to be able to do someday. When your life is ending, you won't be saying, "I just wish I had more time so I could work a few more Saturdays".

my grandad an ex army major always used to say

when your marching ,,, your not fighting.

always a good saying i thought ,, took me a few years of service to understand it fully , and of course fighting in 5 wars and two civil wars helped a bit.

he also used to say ,,,, best place in the army i in your bed ,,,, a wise man he was too.

Integrity is one of several paths. It distinguishes itself from the others because it is the right path and the only one upon which you will never get lost.
