Pretty flippin cool. I learned something new today. I might eventually look into a white gold Daytona. I have a ss white dial that I never wear because the case profile is way too small for my wrist. It just feels dainty to me.

With that said, I would be interested if it just wore a little larger. White gold might be the answer based on your pics. Thanks.

The SS, TT, and YG are just over 38.5mm

The WG, RG, Platinum, and surpassingly also YG Ceramic OF are all just over 39.5mm

Essentially the difference is the right side lugs (3 o'clock side)

On the former the right side are slimmer (more retro inspiration)
On the latter the right side are proportional to the left side for an overall larger, and more modern case

A Space Dweller !! Indeed that's a very good point. Thanks for digging that oldie's reference. If there was a year to re-issue it, that would be this 2019 precisely as the whole world will talk about the Moon landing anniversary by summer.

And Omega doesn't have exclusivity of space race commemoration.

The original Space Dweller was nothing more than a rebranded Explorer 1016 to commemorate the Mercury astronauts visit to Japan in 1963 - so it's about renaming another reference, which could be this year the Yacht Master - for space history commemoration purposes.
Technically it could also be an Explorer1 base in ceramic, but the minute hands' lume zone of the teaser watch don't seem to support the Exp1 theory, but rather a YM.

Historically it makes total sense. If it's the case I just hope for Rolex this one will have more sales success than the original one. It all depends how beautiful and exclusive it is.

I can't imagine Rolex doing much of anything to their iconic Exp I. They just tweaked the 3-6-9 and hands 3 years ago. I can't see them adding a date, practically blasphemy. Yes they did it once I think they saw the errors of their ways. I can't see adding some sort of Space Dweller text on it as a short lived homage to the space program. I kind of like the idea of a new Space Dweller reference, but I don't see them adding another reference to the line up. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they did, I'd be all over it, but I just don't see it happening.

Noon Basel time, which is UTC +1. EDT is UTC -4; PDT is UTC -7, so depending on where in the US you are, the reveal will happen some time from 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM.

Almost positive it's a YM. My guess is something very similar to the RG YM on OF but in SS and with a bracelet. I guess we'll have to wait and see, though!
