^ I was just coming here to say that... it's not making a lot of sense because luxury goods are not a leading indicator.

Way too expensive, grey’s are offering low 20’s on pandas if you try and sell one, others outright refusing unless there’s a trade. So many people bought in on the sheer IDIOCY watches are an investment and worth anything marginally over MSRP, now they’re refusing to take their lumps. Which is just doubling down on the stupidity more, and will result in only larger losses.

That’s how they make money and protect their income. You gotta lowball since prices dips everyday. Some arent even buying unless they have a buyer right away

He can ask whatever he wants, doesnt mean that the market is rising. A market rise would depend on people actually buying the pieces at the increased prices.

He has always sold his pieces extra high compared to the rest of the market

BTW. Prices may not be dropping. The listings are just overpriced if they aren’t moving. .

If you follow dealer to dealer transactions they definitely are. The outward facing grey market is a farce as far as pricing goes.

Any potential way to check on Moda again for new 15500s and 26420s? Curious where they currently sit...

White dial 15500 BNIB went quickly at $38,500

New edition 10 series is $10k more so far but no takers.

And a Aug 22 BNIB WG Olive for 46,900

Most full PM Daytonas still “up there” but certainly not where they were.

I sold my 116528 YG Daytona w/ Blue Racing dial for 45K in January.

Through a dealer so I think he ended up getting 50-55K for it.

I set my end of it right before they really started moving up.

Anyways.. these were never popular watches. I bought it for 21K full set in April of 2016.

I don't think they will ever go that low again but there is no reason they shouldn't be in the low 30s or high 20s.

Full PMs seem to be crashing the hardest the fastest and I think there is a lot more room to go.

My friend who lives in NJ told me yesterday, his ad told him many long term relationships clients, some for over 20 years! More more are passing on allocations they receive because of economic issues and less confidence…

Thank you so much!! Amazed that the price is now $38.5, 6 months ago they were going for 68-75!!! Don't get me wrong, it's still around 50% above MSRP but a FAR way away from 3x retail

If you have some data points for the 26420s in different models, that would be awesome. Seriously debating grey vs boutique at this point, they've basically reached parity now

Oh I know. I wanted to trade my white 116500 up to a 15500 in white for maybe $7-8K late 2021 and then next thing I know I was $20,000 short. A lot of folks asking low $40s for the 15500. That was a slight outlier perhaps but a signal of what's to come?

Haven't seen a 420 lately but $28K for 2017 26400.

Honestly I think you're pretty much there. The MSRP price difference is around 12k and now that the 15500 can be picked up at 38.5, it's basically a wash. I don't see the white Daytona fall much lower than 28 for a while...

For that you get a much more refined watch with an open gorgeous caseback, best bracelet and polishing in the business. But you lose everyday wearability and WP. Tough call

Time the market right, it might not get there.

Trend has recently reversed on Dow Jones, NASDAQ, Bitcoin (yes, Bitcoin), gold. There is a strong correlation between market/crypto and luxury watches.

Keep an eye on those indicators. If they continue to climb, I expect watch prices to follow. I'm already seeing the curve flattening on Watchcharts.

That’s garbage data man. They are quoting a 0.0% change in trailing 6 months for AP, less than 2% for Patek, and just 10% for Rolex. Ask anyone who’s been tracking the market closely - these numbers are straight garbage.

Ok I’ll concede my last point, that watchcharts is “garbage.” But that doesn’t diminish my first point: there is a strong correlation between crypto/stock market and Rolex prices. And the former has just reversed trends.
