To clarify, you have a 5711/1a blue dial with a dark background on the date wheel?

Did you buy it from an AD like this? I ask as I've never seen this configuration before.

Yes I bought it from an AD in 2015.
I was at a Patek roadshow and talked to a marketing manager from Patek S.A. I told them I had a 3800 with dark date wheel that I loved and that I wanted to get a 5711, but that it bothered me a lot, that it had a white date wheel. In my mind it totally destroys the dial symmetry.
I informed them that I thought it was a huge design mistake and I didn't want to buy the watch without a dark date wheel and what they could do to help me.
She said she would bring my question home to the factory and get back to me as soon they had discussed this matter.
After about two years of discussions back and forth, my dark date wheel problem was solved.

Do you have the contact details of that marketing manager from Patek S.A? I also want to have my date wheel problem fixed. Appreciate your help

That’s fantastic, well done. Any other custom (in part or complete) Pateks?

Something unimaginable today, with the high demand for the 5711.

Wow. IF TRUE - that’s a one off with a crazy insane value. I’d like to ask this question to almost any manufacturer with a white DW against a blue/black dial.

Does your Certificate of Origin have any information stating it is custom by Patek with the dark date wheel background?
