Gb-man, I got a good laugh with the grand seiko comment. I don’t have a cordovan wallet but I needed a new wallet and came across this thread. Here’s the short version of my understanding. Seems like Horween shell cordovan is like the “best”. The Japanese cordovan is hit or miss( some love it others not so much). Most are now made w shell on the outside and another type of leather for the inside. It’s harder and harder to find an all shell cordovan wallet... the ones I’ve seen are upwards of 400 dollars. I was lucky enough to find one that suits my needs and was told it’s all Horween cordovan. Should have it by the end of the wk, will post some pics and give a quick review

So I got the wallet yesterday, clearly not as advertised. The interior had lining and the exterior was scuffed. Very disappointed. Back it went. Just ordered one from a USA co... what It is out of stock, will take 6 wks or so to craft. Will update when received.

Did you order it directly through FP via email?

Checkout chester mox. They have a great rep on styleforum and looks very high quality.

The Chester mox looks very nice but the interior is not cordovan. Most of the cordovan wallets that I came across was cordovan on the outside and diff variations of leather on the inside. The one I ordered is shell cordovan inside and out. Only down side is it has 6cc so I will have to down size. Btw most she’ll cordovan is made from hides from Japan, some say it’s great other not so much. Not being able to touch the different types of cordovan makes buying wallets online difficult.

Interesting they do custom work so I figured they could accommodate. I ordered a wallet from them in london tan waprolux. Should be a few weeks I guess. Will update.

Like this but with a natural linen contrast stitch.

Anyone care to comment on how long these "Luxury" wallets last, as in how long before wear is visible. Some of these look fragile.

Asking for a friend.

Up and coming in what sense? High-end name brand luxury brands you haven't heard of or handmade?

High-end name brands that I don't think have been mentioned here:
Moreau Paris - https://moreau-paris.com/collection/...ion-homme.html - wallets and cardholders not prominently shown on site
Moynat Paris - https://www.moynat.com/en/collection...leather-goods/ - their cardholder envelopes are very cool
Valextra - https://www.valextra.com/en-us/small...goods/wallets/
Berluti - https://www.berluti.com/en-int/walle...view-editorial
Loewe - http://www.loewe.com/usa/en/men/small-leather-goods

For those that like LV wallets, the two most difficult ones to get right now outside of the Supreme series are:

New blue Pacific line - https://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/p...-nvprod780746v
New Split Monogram Eclipse - https://us.louisvuitton.com/eng-us/p...-nvprod780691v

I managed to get my hand on both and they are already selling on ebay for $300-400 over the MSRP.

I haven't bought from them but their work looks amazing if you are looking for bespoken handmade stuff:

www.sima-prague.com

I've followed them on Instagram for a while as I was looking for a handmade briefcase but I just noticed they also do watch straps so posting this here might flood them with orders. The post progress pics of items they are making for clients on Instagram and it all looks very nice!

What do people think of Hermes wallets? I own "The Manhattan" and find it perfect in size and functionality.

I'm 49 years old and I still have the very first wallet I received from my grandfather when I started high school. I use it on a daily basis and have never had any other. I will be buried with it!

When I pull it out, my wife walks away!!!!

Excellent quality, but none of their designs quite fit me.

In the couple weeks I have had the FLP wallet so far, it has gotten a lot of compliments and a couple folks who might take the plunge too. I think we should all get some kind of kick back for the free marketing at this point. I will take another 6 CC bill fold in blue if FLP is following this thread!

I have a Goyard card holder that's been in near daily rotation for a year and a half, which still looks brand new! I am tempted to try out FLP and see if they can match Goyard. I definitely like their aesthetic.

had this for a year now. Well used, in my jeans back pocket daily. Has held up well, and still smells like a leather store :)

I skimmed the thread and didn't see either Smythson or Hermes listed. I have both but use the Hermes since my wife bought it for me for Father's Day lsat year. It has held up well so far. But, it's priced like anything Hermes sells.
