Nothing this year!

Bought a YG DayDate 40 last year for my 40th so very happy with my current collection, however if I get the call from my AD for the 36mm WG Daydate or the 36mm Green Dial that I have expressed interest in, that may change!

Purchased 4 Rolex watches this year, but sold 2, so I am +2 for the year.

Ok, guys , I was not asking to get in anyone’s business or personal details. So don’t be offended.
I’ve spent over $100K this year on a 2X Daytona’s , YM, 2X DJ, 2X GMTs and some other brands. Some for me and my loved ones

I’m good for now or until I fall again? Like the song says,

Again, no offense to anyone! I respect everyone on TRF

Cheers,

Responses range from zero to six figures. Clearly, with all the Rolex watches available for immediate purchase on Chrono and other markets, and the smaller but still significant number available new from dealers, anyone who wanted to spend $100k or even $500k on Rolex could easily do so, right now.

At the same time, common sense says most Rolex owners don’t do that. How many Mercedes does the average Mercedes owner buy in a year? How many fine fountain pens do most people buy in a year? For every person who buys 3, 5, or 10 there are a dozen who buy one.

Given all the people who aspire to own a Rolex, the average number owned is surely close to 1.0, and the average annual spend is close to zero since the watches last so long.

That does not deny that some people buy a great many of them, and more power to them, but they represent a small minority even though they surely have an outsize presence here. Though, when presented with this question, I expect there are quite a few multiple Rolex buyers who just decline to answer for any number of reasons.

My point was that we all have the same addiction and it’s a good thing! Some more and some less that’s good too, So it does not matter what you spent as long as you are enjoying it.

I’ve seen people spend a few hundred K or more on one piece and I could never do that even if I had it. But for those who can, Bravo. I’m happy for them.

Life is to short.

Cheers,

I think he meant he’s not trying to pry, just curious to see if we are all as into this, as he is. No one is obliged to answer.

I see quite a few 0s is this because nothing on your wish list was offered?

I was offered pieces throughout the year but none were on my list.

Zero bucks.
Just waiting for a mint dial DJ41. Gave up on a Batman GMT after waiting over 3 years.
Maybe things will improve for 2025 hopefully.
Cheers.
