Bought this beauty for $3,200 with box and papers in Feb 2010, sold it in April 2011 for $4,600... Missed it so much I bought the new ExpII.

My first Sub in 1986 for under $1500, think I paid $1200 if I remember right. Friends owned a jewelry store and knew a AD who would sell at cost to other friends.

Sold it during my wifes last year of medical school in 1999 cause we needed the money. Made a nice profit.

Finally got another Sub a few weeks ago from a seller here on TRF. Like having an old friend back in my life! Really like the changes Rolex made on the new model. Old one is still missed just cause it was my first but I am happy.

I bought a rose gold Tudor Oyster Prince 34 in about 2002 for around $250 on Ebay. This was before I'd bought a digital camera, so sadly, no pics. I took it to my local Rolex AD who had a Rolex trained watchmaker on staff. He verified that it had the cal. 390 in it and replaced the crown, second hand, crystal and gave it a movement service for $375.

I eventually developed that syndrome where I looked at the watch as a "not quite Rolex", which I realize now was very stupid. I sold it to a couple in Europe for $750. I have kicked myself many times over for parting with that watch.

My best deal was when I bought my sub 16610 new in 2003. Paid 3950 which was full MSRP! It was a great deal because I finally could afford my grail watch! Still have it.....its a keeper! Just picked up Milgauss white face for 4500 with box and papers, m serial number..not to bad!

Rolex precision at value village for 70.00. It cost me about 400.00 to clean it and put a crown and stem in it. I gave it to my dad.

Bought one of the last 16610LV's on a G serial, seals in place and never been worn from a dealer closing down last month in the UK for £3000! Best buy i've had by far on a Rolex!

Oh and I got a brand new Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean that had been bought as a present and the guy didn't like it for £1000! I always seem to be around when the bargains are but never have the money to snap them up!

My dear departed Mom gave me an 18k date 15038 in 1986.

My only other Rolex I bought new, a fully stickered and papered SubC in May 2017 for $7550.

Not a great deal, but nowadays? A fantastic price.

1983 DateJust. found this a few weeks ago in a pawnshop for $150.00. I have no idea why it was priced this way. I'm enjoying it immensely.
