Thank you all for your thoughts. She has been having leg pain for a couple of months and has been through a battery of test with no concluding results. Two weeks ago she collapsed in the supermarket. Her right femur was completely broken into. A titanium rod was inserted in the bone. A bone density scan showed a fracture in the other femur. She will have the same surgery on it in a couple of weeks. FOSAMAX!!! is the cause. If you know anyone taking this or Actonel or Boniva please warn them of the possible side effects.

Her retirement date is April 30th. What a way to start

Boyd

I am in the medical field....Nurse Practitioner

All the data on those drugs indicate they would decrease the risk of Hip/Femur fracture.

Most of the data on these drugs indicate not only spine improvement but also hip bone density improvement.

If you have time, please fill me in on the details. I would really like some real information on what happened here. That way I can bring this up to the doctors and reps who sell these drugs.

If you would be more comfortable, please pm me or email me at keschete@yahoo.com

You still have my best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery and please give your wife my kindest regards.

I have a police gig at a county park all Summer. It starts tomorrow, and last until Fall time. 1:00pm to 9:00pm every Sat, and Sun

http://www.sandycreekpark.com/index.php?id=69

I've been heading that up for about 5 years now.

I really love riding around in my police car watching people grill out, and fish. It is a beautiful park, and a sweet side job.

I have to work at the jewelry store too. Busy weekend for me!

I just came back from a "Delta Dad" weekend at the University of Central Florida (UCF) frat house Delta Tau Delta with my son (turns 20 next week). Two men running around Orlando one OLD (me) and one YOUNG (him).

I showed him my old stomping grounds (30 years later) when I was stationed here for five years. Navy base is gone but the memories will never go away.

We had a blast, playing golf, bowling, drinking Scotch.

Back home in Tampa, big art festival tomorrow in St. Pete "MainSail"..one of the areas best art shows!

I'm stuck in Paris due to the "ash cloud". I've eaten a lot of pasties, drank a lot of wine. As the French do say "Jai la peau du ventre bien tendu".

Looking at the bright side of the travel problems brought on by the ash, you could not be in a better position than other travelers who are in some airports and cannot leave. So you can extend your stay as a vacation and visit the Rolex AD, then the historical sites of Paris.

Right now, I am still watching the Cards and Mets, in the 20th inning. This game may not be finished this weekend!

I think tomorrow's weather should be better for Dallas ...

Our pool overflowed onto our deck and flooded our yard more than once today. I was so frustrated with the rain a few days ago that I bbq'd ribs in my oven... Pretty spectacular storms here today with some LOUD thunder.

I'm ready for some of the weather we had about 2 weeks ago!

We try to go at least once a month. (At least that is all I will admit to )

Ask to be seated in Mark's section... he is the BEST!!! Tell him and Jose (one of the Managers) that Scott and Marie told you to go there. According to Mark... our dinners there are what legends are made of...

Needless to say, we have a lot of fun there... great food and good people who run the place are top notch!
PM me if you need any details

Yesterday and Today I worked all day puting wood floor in my (home) office.... I thought it would be easy.... I gave myself WAY too much credit for being handy. I should stick to projects that are electrical.... My hands hurt, my legs hurt, I banged my fingers in to oblivian with the hammer many many times.... but, it's done.

Somebody please tell me it looks good.... even if it's the ugliest floor you ever saw, lie to me.

Paul, the job you did was superb, the floor looks like a professional installation team carried out the job. I have remodeled different homes in the past so I have some expertise and I can say yours turned out the best. Congratulation on a job well done.

Looks great Paul. I learned a great lesson about wood floors when I put mine in. Rent the pneumatic floor nailer. The old school floor nailer with the 3 pound hammer looks like no big deal until you swing it for 2 days straight.

Never mess with a hardwood floor installer. They are strong like Godzilla.

I'm heading out in just a few minutes to join a friend for brunch and shopping. Then I usually reserve Sunday evenings for those chores which when finished, help ensure my work week will run more smoothly, e.g., ironing, paying bills, filling up the gas tank, etc. I hope you continue to enjoy the rest of your weekend no matter what's on your agenda. Faith

I'll no doubt see you here later on today.

Im currently in Montreal (YUL) for a conference with my better half...for the Air Canada Pionairs organization. Great city this is.. Old Montreal, great food etal.. and of course while here I had to visit the local AD, Chateau D'Ivoire - to check out a TT DJ (116233). Listed @ $10,190CAD ..but she was willing to do a 'special' pricing for me..at $8,250. - I could save on the tax if she shipped it to me back home in Vancouver (YVR)..
Ummm...!! ..
Damn beautiful watch.. but....?!?!? $$.
Oh well.. We'll see..!

Sulking. We were supposed to leave for Portugal last Friday but our trip was cancelled because of the ash cloud in Europe. We booked a 10-day early vacation but now it's all gone down the drain. The worst part is that because that ash cloud as an 'Act of God' my insurance company, as all others, rejected my claim

So today we went out, the weather was very fine, for a bike tour in our hometown. A light lunch, some drinks and then back home. And back to work tomorrow instead of stroll down the promenade in Albufeira

I am so sorry to hear about your trip. That is really horrible for you.
I see in the news how it is the biggest global disruption to world wide travel ever... but then when I read about people on TRF having problems traveling it makes it much more real.

So sorry this is happening to you.

The people that are stranded at Amsterdam International are even of worse I guess. For the third day, and nowhere to go We were called by our travel agency that the trip was cancelled just a few hours before we planned to leave. What is extra biter is that the money is gone too

That's a real bummer, Frans. Having only one day of our last London trip canceled due to snow was bad enough. Having the whole trip canceled is the true pits. And being out the money is the worst. Didn't your insurance cover Acts of God or Nature? I'm a bit surprised it didn't. I thought most travel insurance covered those things. I'm going to have to check that the next time I buy travel insurance.

Our weekend was fairly typically busy for us.

Saturday we drove to Baltimore in the morning for the Bar Mitzvah of our friend's grandson. Then back home after the service for the afternoon. I took some dry cleaning to the cleaners and then got my car washed, so that when we drove back to Baltimore for the party at night I wouln't feel embarassed giving my car to the valet.

Today was more relaxing. We actually slept in till 8:30, got up had breakfast, watched Sunday Morning on CBS, then spent an hour on the phone with Dell trying to clear up a computer glitch. I must say Dell's service has always been good. They fixed the problem.

Tonight it's out to dinner with friends.

Then back to the grind tomorrow.

Yesterday, I started off wearing the all black GMT-II; last night and today, I've got the YG DD on. The GMT will go back on the wrist tomorrow.
