Property / School Taxes, fair or unfair?

Paying for schools is part of living in a community. If your town has a school system, then you're paying - whether you have kids or not.

The worst tax of them all? Exise tax. Yearly property tax on our cars. I mean, we paid sales tax when we registered the cars, why pay an ownership tax on them again every year?
To me it's completely unfair. Do other states have this? Is this another crooked Rhode Island thing?

Michigan is one of two states that have an unlimited welfare program... recipients are not encouraged to look for a job and the amount of money they get paid increases with the number of children they have. Honestly, it makes me angry to go to the store and watching women with 6 kids running around screaming and she has three shopping carts FULL of name brand stuff paying with their EBT card... and Im buying on a budget with cupons for store brand items.

Dont get me wrong, I believe that state assistance is key, but if the State of Michigan gave manditory drug tests to every one receiving state funding, it would save Michigan residents... communities... millions of dollars a year. Sad Sad. Guess whos paying for all of that.
